I am looking for a laptop, I tested few and the greatest annoying thing is the fan/noise factor, I am ofcourse talking about cheap laptops, under 1.ooo$. Weight is another thing/the slimmer the better, just like women. Lastly, strong wifi antena, strong bluetooth, gps, and protected screen. Lastly, universal power adaptor, what would that mean? Sonny has it, they have a simple power cable, as old stereos used to have, you can pic one up in any country you go to for under 2$, so no adaptors necessery.
when i think of luxury, i think expensive and unique, like leather, or some other expensive materials used in the laptop to make it feel more exclusive. carbon fiber or titanium, aluminum, leather, suede, nice paint jobs, unique design and features. clean designs
I think that notebook should have a multimedia projector built in so that you do not have to carry around with one when you have to make a quick presentation; they must be waterproof, and shock resistant.
Great question. Easy answer.
1. A SMALL notebook (I am an EeePC 900 owner) which runs MAC OS X 10.5 Leopard (the best OS on Earth). I am NOT INTERESTED in how THIN a laptop is. The Mac Book Air is nice, but TOO BIG. A 9" MacBook Air, or an ASUS running OS X. Why Apple don't do this is beyond me. People would snap it up.
2. Backlit LCD screens that DO NOT REFLECT everything. A small, portable is made to use on the road. Macs' LCD screens are as good as useless in bright sunshine.
3. Bluetooth
4. Wi-Max
5. Take the Air and all that thinning technology, 9" the screen and reduce the weight to 0.5kg.
WASTE OF TIME
1. Touch screens are ergonomically useless on a computer. Fine for handhelds. The iPodTouch is magnificent. Because you are directing your finger down onto the device when you hold it in your palm. But you have to lift your arms to use a touchscreen PC. That is very tiring since nothing but your own muscles is supporting your fingers. Stick to improving the touch controls on the trackpad.
2. The MacBook Air. Thin is the new pointless.
3. An optical drive. I last used mine 6 months ago.
4. Windows 7 (see 2.)
5. Tablets
No glare screen (these are cheaper?). I want a gaming notebook with a business notebook screen!

Thanks guys for all your input. You posted really good ideas and thoughts. I will probably use some of your ideas on my next articles.

1. 64GB SSD, no optical drive, no standard mechanical drive. I doubt I would use more then 20 of that 64 anyway. (XP Pro and DSL(Linux) for OS.
2. 13" WXGA touchscreen
3. At least HD3200 GPU, but no more then the HD3650, just enough to play Age of Empires and Diablo 2 between classes.
4. 3-4 hours of battery life, 6 hours is just ... notgona hapen without a 12lb battery.
5. Neleham based dual-core with HT.
