What features would you want your PC to have to keep it from being hacked or stolen?

For hacking you would just want it to have good software free with it. For it being stolen a simple Traking device for not be to expensive. Filesharing is where a lot of viruses would ocme in so the software should have a "new file scan" so it scans every new file that comes into the PC

Hacking prevention: If the password fails twice then it triggers an alarm that can only be turned off with the password. Or have a gel finger scanner that scans your finger print in 3D, which would be almost impossible unless u have that finger.

Anti-theift: A GPS locater in the mainframe of the PC that, unless program is turned off, sends a message to your email and a text message to your cell phone or a call to your house phone that tells you where it is.

I agree with letsumo, voice recognition software for access into your OS would be a great deterrant, but so would a DNA recognition physical lock since all software has a backdoor somewhere.

lol at TTEchidna... but yeah, maybe a lock? not like a masters lock(though that would be funny) but like just a small lock that opens by voice recognition. you press a button, and it listens for your voice. you could set it to anything you want.

I think that the laptop should have a type of video camera that when your report it stolen to a store or the manufacturer the camera activates so that your or the police and see who has it, Where it is. And maybe it could take snapshots every hour or so. So that you can get evidence. And it should have its own battery.

something the same as World of warcraft has for its account, so each time you want to turn the laptop on you ned to no the special code

Thumbprint scanner for one. Those have been proven very useful to me. If the computer would be for a child then limit his or her's accessibility to an extent so for one they know you trust them and at the same time you know the computer would be safe from any gullibility and accidents, but in this generation most kids are actually pretty intelligent when it comes to computers.
