Do you prefer matte or glossy screens? (Matte/Glossy)

.
I prefer matte screens.Less glare and if it's a touch screen less finger prints.
I prefer matte because if its touchscreen there would be no grease marks from fingers and it wouldn't be as reflective from light so you can see better

i prefer matte displays, like most others do. One, it helps to reduce glare, and two, it is brighter. Also they are finger print magnets
I prefer matte screens - the glossy ones are really giving me headaches. I'm not the only one, a friend of mine has a rare condition and is allergic to these glossy screens - they give her vertigo - unusual and it can happen with matte screens for her too - often a balance must be found on brightness and contrast. Looking at my laptop (glossy screen) I am too distracted by reflections and find myself looking harder at the screen. My home external display is a big 24" matte display - which never tires me day or night - though it is far brighter than my laptop display.
I feel that matte is better for people who surf the web and such but any body who plays games or watches movies should consider glossy. And also does anyone else feel that two different glossy screens can be glossier than one another? for instance i have a glossy screen and so does my dad but i feel his is way more glossy than mine to the point i cant use his laptop. this could just be the fact that its my laptop and im used to it but idk maybe there should be different ratings of gloss you can have put on your screen. But bottom line i think xavier is right it should always be down to the consumers choice for every model
i'd say it depends. For laptops: Matte. This would make the screen easy to view when you have tons of glare; and glossy for desktops because they are usally in houses and offices where there is no glare at all !
