What if a computer had multipul SSDs and hard drives?
Moot point as we're herded towards cloud computing. When The Borg assimilate us, as they're doing with smartphones, iPhone, iTouch, now iPads and their new clones, notice how you have less and less access to your data, all programs, especially all media (including your own) that you're not allowed to take OFF the device, out of the control of the nanny state (cloud).
iPad's memory card specs is a good example. It's only a READER of PICTURES into the cloud device. You cannot WRITE to a card not under their control, or any medium that can be removed from the absolute control of the device's cloud nanny state. There is no offline, out-of-device STORAGE of anything, you only have a temporary LICENSE to see/hear/use what you've paid for.
You won't be needing SSDs or Hard Drives when The Borg's cloud computing assimilation you are being accustomed to is complete. There will be no need because your "app" will be run on the cloud, you data will be stored on the cloud and your pretty, but dumb, graphical "screen", to associate it with the screens in "1984", will only display, momentarily not permanently, the output of your labor. The cloud will decide whether it is appropriate to send data through your dumb device to the local printer, depending on your licensing arrangements.
Notice how few squawk as real I/O is disappearing...like Firewire, as a for instance. Count the ports on an iPad. iTunes IS the cloud! All the cloud has to do is tell you NO or make that little COPY button disappear....
not useful unless you are paranoid that you are going to get killed and you need a pc to escape reality.
