My Hero Ultra Rumble release window prediction

The release date for My Hero Ultra Rumble isn’t immediately obvious just yet. However, the game has enjoyed a few closed betas in development and an open beta is on its way too! More on that below. So, we can’t be certain of the release date just yet, especially since the Steam store lists the gaming as ‘Coming soon’ and doesn’t yet offer any system requirements.

One thing we do know for sure though is that the game should be closing in on a release year soon, 2023 is what we currently predict. That’s because the jump from sparse closed betas to a lengthier open beta means the game should be much closer to being ready for a full release. We’ll just have to wait and see at the moment though.

What is My Hero Ultra Rumble?

If you’re a fan of the show, and you haven’t heard of My Hero Ultra Rumble yet, then you’re in for a treat. This free-to-play game is coming to PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC, and takes MHA into the world of online battle royale games.

Gameplay footage shows that you will take control of various super-powered characters. Each match sees you in a team of 3, working to be the last group of heroes (or villains) standing. There will be 8 teams involved, adding up to a total of 24 players per match.

Other than the MHA set-dressing, the game has a lot of the stuff that makes BR a fun genre to play. There’s a constantly-shrinking floorspace, crates to open, and a huge open map for you to hide or hunt in.

If you’re interested in taking part in the My Hero Ultra Rumble Beta then you’re going to need a PS4 or PS5. Here are the dates for the open beta:

  • May 26th, 4AM CEST – June 2nd, 8AM CEST (subject to change)

The release trailer below shows off some extra details, including new character reveals. The open beta is already ready to pre-load on the PlayStation Store.

There have previously been closed betas on PS4 in the past, with the Japan closed beta test taking place in February 2022, and the North American closed beta happening in August 2022. There’s been a lengthy period without any access to the game, so it’s nice to see the open beta free for all to try out the game worldwide.
