Yeah, while the concept of wireless power does exist, it's definitely no where near practically "usable". I definitely think we'll have something like this in the future, just not the near future.

Your device would likely be more expensive and energy consuming than existing computers. I think an opposite trend is what's really needed, and that's why netbooks are becoming so popular. I advocate a bold move to low power and low cost. My proposal too has multiple screens, but the goal is power optimization and low cost.

I believe that it is possible, in theory, to remotely transmit electric power through laser beams, althoug i dont know if such technology already exists...

Too many people are scared of wireless power, they think it will give them super cancer and aids or something. Good idea though.

actually wireless power transfer does exist, it just doesn't work at long distances yet. For example those rechargeable battery toothbrushes are wireless power transfer between the base station and the brush, ever wonder why there's no metal parts on it? I know one company recently powered a lightbulb from I believe it was around 3 ft between the power sending station and power receiving station, with nothing but air in between.
