Hybrid LCD - E-Paper

My idea if it’s possible to make Hybrid OLED and e-Paper 10” touch display. On one screen we have two layers first is OLED display, second on e-Paper technology (color e-Paper technology should be nice, but it is not condition) and LED backlight. Why Hybrid? For better battery life! When you read book, or make some notes you use e-Paper display, and OLED layer is shutoff, so you can read much more pages than on typical notebook screens, because e-Paper technology need less energy than typical OLED screen. When you need fast, color screen to watch movie, or paint something the OLED Layers turn on, and e-Paper shutoff. So now you have normal LCD display to work in Windows, watch movies, view photos end so on. Asus work on his ExpressGate system so black&white version or whit color pallet like e-Paper screen can be like menu used whit e-Paper display to manage files, play mp3, open e-books, words documents etc., so you have many option to use, without use of normal screen, so you save energy.

This is Idea for simple, and elegant notebook for students, but for businessman, worker, mother or father too. This notebook is something like personal book, where you can make notes or paint a picture, but you play presentation on PowerPoint via HDMI to projector too… so it’s should be perfect product for students. Lot of options close in small case.

Ok… but what it is?

This display should be use to write some notes via electronic pen or display keyboard.

On the bottom we have second e-paper display. In my opinion it should be color e-Paper technology, whit bigger color pallet than monochromatic, or six gray scale. For what for is this display? For express your style, feelings or personality. I hate typical notebooks because they looks awful, ok we have few nice notebooks, like Apple MacBooks, or some product where you can chose color of case, but is still don’t show our personality. So second display is for personalize your device. You can put there some pictures, your child painting from paint, or make your own style lines, panther hide, words or all sententious or something like that. Beauty of that solution is that you don’t need energy to display pictures, you need energy only when you change picture on this display. If create of Hybrid screen is impossible we can use this display to read e-books end so on.

So this should be ideal solution for young, mobile person, who want take own computer every ware. You can for many hours makes note in classroom, when you are in journey you can read books for hours or watch some movies, if you want I can play some games too. When you are outside surfing in internet in pubs or something like that, other people can see your second displays whit your personality, maybe they see something interesting. Businessman’s and students use HDMI to show own presentation on business meeting/lessons on universities.

All that stuffs close in simple aluminum case whit glass surface on top and bottom of device. On the edge on bevel we have few ( 4? ) buttons on the both sides (8). There are fully programmable, in Windows Media Player (or similar program) we have Play, Stop, Back etc. buttons, in PDF reading mode we have Next Page, Back Page, Zoom in, Zoom out. We can chose function for this buttons when we use OS (Windows, Linux), for example Windows Button, or Shortcut for programs.

When you dock your device to charge batteries you can use your computer as Photo frame, alarm clock, table calendar, home multimedia remote and much more!

Use as tablet whit your PC and painting program!
