About Me
Gary Key joined AnandTech in 2005 and currently serves as a Senior Editor. Gary is responsible for motherboard, memory, networking, and storage reviews. Additional duties include comprehensive testing and feedback of performance results on pre-release products to a vast array of suppliers. Prior to joining AnandTech, Gary spent 24 years in Senior Operations and Executive roles for several tier one companies in the Automobile, Telecommunication, and PC hardware industries. He has directed the successful launch of countless new products, designed highly innovative just-in-time delivery systems, implemented world-class lean manufacturing processes, and was at the forefront of implementing quality programs including some of the first ISO9001:2000 and TL-9000 corporate certifications in the Southwest . Gary has been an avid computer user since the late 1970s when he built his first Heath H-8 kit and majored in Computer Science. His enthusiast roots began in 1984 when he started overclocking HARRIS 80286-16 processors to speeds near 30MHz with high quality clock crystals and custom BIOS routines. Gary has a remained a hardcore computer enthusiast to this day. However, his true passion remains in teaching and assisting others on how to get the most out of their computers, whether it is creating a simple macro in Excel or reaching new overclock levels.
