Dual Headphone Jacks

I think notebooks/netbooks should be shipped with dual headphones for listening to music with other people. Dell already does this with some of their laptops, and Asus should too.

Power Saving Features

I'd like companies to focus on more than just the Processor's power consumption. On netbooks, the 945G chipset runs hotter and consumes much more power than the Atom processor, yet has no power saving features. They need to use modern chipsets, and more aggressive power saving features.

I know they often use much more voltage than needed, because not all yields are the same, but they can still lower them a bit. T was able to undervolt my processor 0.3275 volts lowering the temperature 15C at load, while keeping the same performance.

Also, in the past decade, battery technology hasn't changed much for consumers. Rather than shipping netbooks/notebooks with bulky 9 cell batteries, they should have an option to be shipped with high capacity 6 cell batteries than gives more life than the 9 cells, while not adding bulk.

This needs to happen to both notebooks, and netbooks.

Power Optimized Chipsets

More Power Optimized Chipsets in Netbooks.

The 945G Chipset for example is a slow, and outdated. It's from 2005, yet it draws more power than the AMD 780g chipset, while delivering half the processing power.

AMD and Intel need to create new mobile chipsets, that offer enough performance to play 720p video, while consuming as little power as possible. Thr Southbridges need to be designed for only 2 or 3 drives, and for low power. All the chipsets today are just tweaked desktop ones, while they should make completely new mobile chipsets.
