eBook reader netbook / e-paper cover PC
netbook
The top cover of the netbook sports an e-paper display so that it can be used as an eBook reader when the lid is closed. e-paper is a great technology that enables power-efficient yet fully-readable displays in full sunlight because it acts like a paper. Today we begin to see the first mass-products using this technology in eBook readers. However these eBook readers are just too much limited...

Creativity PC
notebook
Creativity PC (repost) INTELLIGENT COMFORT External ergonomics The main idea of laptop-of-MY-dream is simple. It should be small (13,3"-14"), light weighted (2-2,5kg), enough powerful (most powerful CPU with virtualization technology; not powerful, but discrete graphics; large RAM & HDD) & autonomous (5-8hours). BUT when it's small it has a small keyboard & a small screen. The advantages be...

Minimalistic Tablet Netbook
netbook
Todays netbooks are functionally fine with the current hardware and specifications. The only thing that is really missing is the tablet feature. What I think is the next step is to make it all slim and minimalistic. Features (other than standard netbook): o Screen: 8.9-10 inches LED backlit Rotating screen (a la Tablet-PC) 1280x768 resolution (1024x600 optional) Minimal sc...

MyPc
netbook
Basically have one base unit that can do the basics: internet and note taking etc. But make it available at an extremely low price, try for under $199. But what makes it customizable is the fact that everything about it can be chosen my the user, have a easy access slot to swap out different SSDs depending on preference, usb/firewire modules that are able to be put in taken out easily. Have a prop...

Freedom Power Touch
notebook
This is a crazy idea, but I've always loved the turnable computer screens, and then I though, why not make the screen completely independent from the main part of the computer, just connect them wirelessly and make a smart "click-system" that enables one to quickly detach the two from each other. The screen has to be tough, much like apples' I-Phone, therefore a safireglass screen with aluminum/m...

Non Lap-Burning Laptop
notebook
I love my laptop. It affords the ability to work anywhere, anytime -- w00t. Only problem is that after hours of continuous work, it begins to scorch my lap...and who knows what health risks this might cause down the line. Can someone please create a "cool" laptop already...?

5MX 2008
netbook
Essentially, an updated version of the venerable Psion 5MX. A similar size and format for the casing, but with colour touch-screen, bluetooth, wi-fi and USB ports. The focus is on small size, portability and functionality. To keep the size down connection ports would be limited to one USB port, but perhaps with the option to connect a monitor, speakers etc via a break-out box.

Multiscreen Optiview
notebook
A standard sized notebook PC with a difference! When you lift the lid on this laptop it seems like any other reasonably-spec'd PC, with all the usual Windows/Linux applications and features. However, you notice there is no mousepad. Along the side of the notebook there is a small door labelled "garage" which flips open to reveal a small but perfectly formed rodent, complete with optical trackin...

Mobile Web Browser
netbook
Built for the sole purpose of viewing web pages and using web apps on a crappy low resolution 7" cheap touch screen. Will have the most basic processor, Will have dirt cheap 100MB memory with some kind of mini-linux on it. No finish. Made of cheap plastic. People will choose which connectivity to buy - 3G, WIMAX, WIFI etc as it will be too expensive to include them all at one version. Eve...
