It's now more than 10 years since Psion create the Psion 5. It was the ultimate, portable, programmable PDA with a touch screen a beautiful clam shell design. I would like to see a similar clam shell design. A keyboard small enough to type with your thumbs. A touch screen with built in stylus. A smart, touch screen operating system designed for netbook, not a desktop os, crammed into a netbook....

With laptops getting smaller and smaller they are coming out with less USB ports. Their for, my idea would be to have an internal (built-in to the motherboard) usb wireless hub adapter. It would free up a usb port used with an external adapter and would provide plenty of room for expansion.

Solar panel in the top of the lid (back of the screen), so it can charge the battery when outside. Both when on and when off. Let the solar panel be able to swing out from the screen in order to get better solar "contact"

I'd like a PC that could detect when a child is nearby, or about to touch it, and would automatically go into child-mode. In child-mode, no amount of pounding on the keyboard or smudging up the monitor would do any lasting damage, and everything would go back to normal (clean and functional!) as soon as the PC auto-exited child-mode.

WE NEED A PORTABLE WITH A BULLETPROOF AC POWER CONNECTOR! Currently, AC power connectors fail often, and the only repair is to replace the motherboard or pull the motherboard and solder a new connector in. These connectors can see a lot of use/abuse, so make it TUFF!

This is the continuation of my "Lowjack PC" idea, but now with bells and whistles. One of the things I am most worried about is someone stealing my laptop. It's got ALL my key info on it. I want my PC to know that I'm using it - ie, that it's ME, and not anyone else. Keystroke analysis,camera-based pattern recognition,anyway....
