notebook
if everyone uses a solar gen PC, we can save too much energy for earth's future. so how does it work ? if the notebooks lids were covered with solar panels, we could be able to produce enough energy for our notebook. You may ask "must we leave this pc under sun to charge :S ?" definetely you won't do this. If there is a light coming onto your pc, solar pannels use them to produce energy. so...

PortaMouse
notebook
I like computer mouses. In the absence of a feasible replacement I'd like a laptop to include not only a mouse extract from the body but a mousepad you can fold out as well. The mouse would be wireless and optical(like most mouses). It could charge while docked and I'd like it to be full size somehow possibly via some kind of fold out frame that fits nicely into the hand. I'm imagining a...

HP Jornada UMPC
notebook
A retro version of the Hewlett Packard Jornada 720 series handheld using UMPC technology so it runs Windows. I would have the largest possible alphabet keys so that touch typing would be enhanced. Keys like number keys and keys not often used when composing word, reports, text input would be shift keys or smaller keys so that the main letter keys would be as large as possible. The keys would be...

Instant on pocket laptop for business travelers on the go
notebook
Instant on so you can use the computer fast and not wait for a boot up more than say 10 seconds max, providing a small but still touch type keyboard, designed to fit in a large coat pocket so you can take it everywhere. To me that means a screen about an 8" diagonal so the overall size would be about 7 1/2 inches by 3.9 inches and about 1" inch in height. It would be availble in either Windows, ...

Linux family OSs and notebooks
notebook
Why the is so little experience in preinstalling Linux on notebook? Yes, I understand that there are situations when you need Win of Mac OSs, but there is a niche for people, who don't need much - surfing, watching, listening. Perhaps, there should be some experiece with preinstalling Linux and providing a CD with all drivers and software, expecially for this PC.

Unfold
notebook
Like a book or a door, the hinge is on the side so the notebook opens up displaying two LCD screens side by side. On top of one of the two LCD screens, there is a small light source that projects a virtual keyboard to an empty space on your desk. The other side of the LCD screens can be used as solar panels.
