What happens when you close it?? then there is an oddly exposed part of the screen that is pretty much useless.

The business user on the go does not want a thumb keyboard! I would want a basic clamshell as a business user needs laptop functions not a PDA/phone features.

Any computer should have a qwerty keyboard (user reprogrammable to be dvorak or any other configuration), and a finger pointer (like on IBM's 486's). A thumb pointer instead might be an idea, but it should be tested on users to see if it or other ideas would work out in practice. Additionally the screen of any computer, including pocked sized, should be color and touch sensitive, so one can point/ write on screen with a finger and other objects touching screen if one chooses to.

I've always wanted something between a phone and a laptop, but everything out there is too thick and bulky. I'd love a mid-sized "handheld notebook" like this.

I think a better solution would come from the world of cell phones. Let's leave laptops for people who are sitting down.

I think this is not very practical at all. I hate thumb input and see this as yet another of the dozens of failures with thumb input with a full PC. A windows mobile phone is fine for small web and PDA functions.

Once you require more of a full PC laptop needs then a thumb input is just lame. I think a better design would be more of a pocket clamshell with a normal keyboard not a query thumb input.

Thanks for all the comments! I have used a blackberry and a treo over the yrs - neither device has worked very well for keeping up advanced business communications. Impossible to create or edit presentations or access salesforce successfully. Not sure if this device will be able accomplish everything but access to important docs in a very cool form factor+1

wow, you can only use your thumbs with that device, so there should be just one key space bar, to hit :). Handheld pc, screen 10 by 8 or watever, so normal fingers can type, another great solution to no touch screen keyboard, would be voice regonition and typing whatever the person says. then we could be done with the keyboard, and small pointing device could be used for browsing.
