Pocket Netbook - Eee Go Multiple Docking System

PC img

Dream PC Description

Expanding on the topic of multipurpose docking systems.>> This concept attempts to visualize the versatility of a multiple docking concept.
1) Car Dock- this gives you full control of your car's engine management system (I used AEM's basic module to illustrate). This also hooks up to your car stereo and acts as your car's multimedia player (voice command is an option)
2) Living Room/ Home Theater Dock. This may connect wirelessly to a base controller (the gray unit on the table) which controls your home theater and environment with several IR or RF modules that can be attached to light dimmers, mechanized curtains, amplifier and surround conditions.
3) Gamer dock - a portable unit with an extra battery and a GPU or graphics booster chip with gamepad buttons/ controls.

All ports reside on the docks themselves depending on which type of dock it is (such as USB3, i400, s-video, hdmi and IR or RF sending units). The basic unit connects to the docks via a sturdy docking collar hidden by a sliding panel on the back (although i'd still prefer it to be wireless)

thanks. Yup, I was thinking of a multi user interface concept that allows the user to basically pick out which type of input devices would work well with him/her. Wireless and dockable keyboard should be a good option. Thanks again

I like where this goes. I would love to be able to take my current working application with me from thing to thing.

Maybe the keyboard could also be undockable.

Saxon, Like ddennisdlmd I do not see a touch screen being popular. What I want and believe most people want is just a simple pocket laptop with a normal keyboard. There has never been such a computer made yet. The closest was the Psion 5mx but that was not full Windows. I for one would not buy a computer with a touch screen. I want an easy to type keyboard and I want it pocket size to carry, that is the key parts for me.

Thanks again, guys.
@Saxon Kiwi - I'd really love for this to be a dual touchscreen but I'd probably reserve that option when they perfect the technology. Touchscreen alone as a user interface is still quite problematic in my opinion. One option I can think of is to make this into a dual touchscreen but provide a tactile keyboard overlay just like the one i showed in the GeePC gaming notebook which is a modification of nintynuts' dial ds.

Thumbs Up. A great idea. The keyboard om the old Psion 5 was without doubt the best & handiest size of keyboard ever for a portable device. You'v4e got my vote and I'd buy one if they made it. ASUS - Look no further than this!

Sounds Like a great concept, but would be more intrested if the main unit dispenced with the keyboard and became touch screen

That is great!
I'd buy it if it does everything you say it would.

energymanagementpro, the size is exactly what Primaz proposed and I think it is well within that limit. Thanks!

Thanks a lot Zhigarev! A thumbs up coming from the prime proponent of the dual touchscreen idea! That's great. I really appreciate it.
