PC Idea Description
What is a bunch of metal pieces without nice software on top?
ASUS started the EEE PC phenomena, with a version of Linux pre-installed (although, not the ideal one - a really free distro such as Debian would have been the right move).
My consideration for ASUS hardware increased with that initiative. However, in many countries and in many places you still have a hard time buying an EEE PC (without Windows and) with a really nice and free Linux distribution.
My Dream (EEE) PC? Something like the ASUS 1000 with 3G card support and GPS, available with a customized version of Debian/Ubuntu pre-installed!

I confirm, and would like to add my voice to this.
The idea is really good, and would probably make me, and many other Linux addicts, buy a netbook.
In addition to that, the price of the item would be reduced by the cost of the mswin licence, plus every proprietary software included in the windows versions of the EEEPC. So the price would mbe more attractive and the item would be able to target not only the Linux community, but also everybody aiming for the true EEEPC spirit : cheap efficient small laptops
It would be great if we could buy a netbook without any OS. We would be able to get and install the one we chose, without paying for an useless OS.
This would be a great laptop if it had a free bios and only used free software.
Yeah I agree with you but i would like to see speech recognition in it for controlling the GPS, and an inch smaller than the EEE pc so it fits on my dashboard :P
