inkbook

PC Idea Description

I would like a netbook using electronic ink technology similar to that found in the Motorola F3 cellphone.

An electronic ink screen could save some power, as only screen updates require power. But most importantly, you can read the screen when you are outdoors in direct sunlight. (ever tried using a macbook at the beach in summer? good luck ...).

The obvious downside is that you get black and white, and that's it. No greys, no colours. But many of us just need to write, without distractions. Whether you're writing a novel or computer code, other people tend to do the graphic design for your work. Those people need colour, I do not.

As an optional feature, you could offer a version with a swivel screen so the thing doubles as a e-book reader. Personally, I would just like an affordable netbook with a solid state disk and e-ink screen.
