Optimal Hardware Suggestions

Destiny 2 PC system requirements are in the medium category; they are not significantly resource-heavy. But, to really take advantage of the beautiful gameplay, it is worthwhile having a reasonably decent gaming PC. The minimum requirements above are not significant compared to today's standards. The two key areas are both HDD space and GPUs, at a minimum, you would need 104GB of free space, as it is a very large game. With NVME prices and SSD prices falling, we would recommend both for speed and space going for a 2.5" SSD such as the Crucial MX500 or Samsung EVO. As for the GPU, a 1050 2GB card should be reasonably easy to surpass. We would recommend trying to get Nvidia's 1660 or Radeon's new 5700 either would be great for this game. At a bare minimum, we would recommend a GTX 1060 or 1070. As for the CPU, we would recommend an 8th or 9th generation Intel CPU or Ryzen's 2nd or 3rd generation CPUs.

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend?

If you are looking to build or upgrade your gaming PC to run Destiny 2, we recommend the following specifications:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 2nd or 3rd generation / Intel 8th or 9th generation
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4
  • GPU: Radeon 5700 / 2060 Super

You can check out our $500 build as well as our $800 build, both of which are very good builds for this game. The $800 machine includes a 1660TI which would be more than capable of playing Destiny 2 at high FPS on 1080 or 1440P.
