Can I Run Football Manager 2020?

Are you gearing up to start playing Football Manager? First of all, you need to check whether you can run this title and the way to do that is to have a look at the system requirements. We have outlined below the minimum and recommended system requirements for you to take a look at.

All you will need to do is compare them with your current PC specifications to see if you can run it. If you are unsure about how to find your PC specs, we have written up a helpful guide to take you through it step by step.

While finding and comparing specifications and system requirements is easy enough, it can be a bit tedious. That’s why we have been working hard on developing a brand new tool that will reduce the hassle and time you spend doing this for every game you want to play. Our tool will automatically check and compare your PC specs and the requirements of the particular title you’re interested in playing. We will let you know as we progress through the development stages and when we have a firm release date in mind.

Football Manager 2020 Game Details

  • Release date: 18th November 2019 – PC, 10th December 2019 – Nintendo Switch
  • System Requirements: Low
  • Genre: Football-management simulation
  • Developer: Sports Interactive
  • Publisher: Sega

Football Manager 2020 allows players to take control of their favorite club in one of 53 available countries. You take on the role of manager for the club of your choosing. As the manager, you’ll have to take control of transfers, training players and match day tactics in order to move your club up the leagues.

This can be as easy or challenging as you want, picking a club such as Liverpool will come with requirements from the chairman to win the Premier League as well as making the Champions League final, whereas other clubs may have less ambitious goals. You could be tasked with avoiding a relegation battle, bringing in youth players to your first team or even negotiating for free agents to join your club depending on who you choose.

For the amount of control Football Manager 2020 gives players, almost anything is possible. If you want to rise through the English football ranks with a non-league team, the sky (and your managerial ability!) is the limit.

Players can choose from teams in over 117 leagues this year, while the Romanian Liga III has been dropped, the addition of the Canadian Premier League, Gibraltar National League and two new Welsh divisions, Cymru North and Cymru South, make this one of the most varied simulation experiences on offer today.

Optimal Hardware Suggestions

The good news about Football Manager 2020 is that it isn’t a tough game to get running. In fact, I’m currently enjoying this year’s installment on a 4-year old laptop! In a game that is less about graphics and more about processing, you won’t need to be aiming for solid framerates here.

The recommended settings for this title are showing their age by now, most budget systems will far surpass these straight out the box. The recommended settings will have you running this title with all the graphics and detail settings around medium/high pretty easily.

The real struggles begin when you are deciding how many football leagues you have loaded in your playthrough. The game will give you a handy 5-star rating scale for your game speed depending on what you select, but if you stick with the recommended nations, the recommended requirements will suffice.

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend?

Following on from the recommended requirements, a budget PC of around $500 would work perfectly well. This is an affordable and powerful build that will run Football Manager 2020 very well. It will also be able to handle other similar titles that you throw at it, especially if simulation games are your genre of choice.

Here are a few key components the build includes that will have you running Football Manager 2020 in no time.

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Processor
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • GPU: XFX Radeon RX 570 RS XXX Edition 1286MHz

While this is a great build to get started with, you’ll probably want to set your sights on something better if you plan on gaming solely on a PC. With a build running in the region of an extra £100, you’ll be able to load more leagues and have the match engine running on ultra settings – we’d recommend our $600 gaming build for this.
