Can I Run Atomic Heart On My Computer?

The official PC system requirements for Atomic Heart have been released and they are surprisingly reasonable. You can see both the minimum and recommended system requirements listed below on this page. Although we like to be optimists here at WePC we can’t help but be slightly skeptical that the recommended requirements will be sufficient to run such a graphically impressive game at a respectable FPS. As a result, we advise that you assume slightly more power is needed than the official requirements would suggest.

We have listed some examples of PC builds at the bottom of this page that we believe would be ideal for playing the game on different graphical settings and at different resolutions.

If you aren’t sure of the specifications of your current PC to compare against the listed requirements, we suggest that you have a glance through our guide on how to look up your PC specs.

Atomic Heart Game Details

Atomic Heart is a wonderfully weird game from little known Russian development studio Mundfish that could be one of the sleeper hits of 2021. Set in an alternate reality, more technologically advanced Soviet Union in 1955, the game takes place in an experimental government facility that you (a mentally unstable KGB agent) has been sent to investigate, and is filled with all manner of robotic, physics defying horrors and retro-futuristic insanity. The game is fundamentally a First-Person Shooter but will include several roleplaying elements such as weapon construction and customization and free exploration of different areas.

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend To Play Atomic Heart?

Playing Atomic Heart on the lower settings at 1080p resolution will probably require something like a $800 self-build PC to get respectable FPS performance. If, however, you want to run the graphics on the higher settings at 1080p or 1440p a $1,500 self-build is more what you’ll require, with at least a $2,000 self-build PC being needed if you’re playing at 4K resolution.

If you don’t want to put together your own computer and require something ready-made, then one of our selected pre-built PCs for under $800 should run Atomic Heart on low settings at 1080p no problem. Again though, if you want to push things up to the highest graphical settings then you will need at least a $1,500 pre-build for 1080p to 1440p gameplay and a more powerful $2,000 rig for 4K gaming.
