Can I Run ICARUS On My Computer?

ICARUS, also known as ICARUS: First Cohort, will be available to play on Windows PC only. A visually impressive open-world game, ICARUS will be fairly demanding on most PCs. We have listed below the official minimum system requirements, and estimated our own recommended system requirements as these have not currently been provided by the publisher. Expect these to change closer to the game’s release.

If you don’t know how to find the specifications of your current PC to compare against the listed minimum and recommended system requirements, we advise that you have a quick look through our guide on how to look up your PC specs. If it transpires your current machine lacks the necessary oomph, we would recommend that you take a look at the PC builds we have suggested at the foot of this page.

ICARUS Game Details

  • Release Date : 11th August 2021 (Microsoft Windows)
  • System Requirements : Medium-High
  • Genre : Survival / Online Co-Op / PvE / Open World / Crafting

ICARUS looks to bring a new spin to the survival genre. Players will find themselves on an Earth-like planet called Icarus, a failed terraforming experiment that is significantly more hostile than Earth and has an atmosphere toxic to humans. Teams of up to 8 players will have to help each other build, and survive on time-limited missions on the planet where they must retrieve highly valuable exotic materials. The developers promise that the game world will expand following release into new biomes and locations, new threats to conquer, and ongoing story development. The engine could serve as a platform for other fan-made games as well.

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend To Play ICARUS?

To play ICARUS on the lower settings at 1080p resolution will need a machine at least as powerful as our $800 self-build PC to if you want to get decent FPS performance. If you want to pump up the graphics setting to their highest though, for 1080p or 1440p resolutions a $1,500 self-build is what you’ll need, and at least a $2,000 self-build PC will be required if you’re playing at 4K resolution.

If you really don’t want to put together your own computer and would prefer a pre-built gaming PC, then one of our selected pre-builds for under $800 will run ICARUS on low settings at 1080p no problem. Once again, if you want to up the settings however then you will need at least a $1,500 pre-build for 1080p and 1440p gaming and a more powerful $2,000 pre-built PC for 4K resolution.
