Can I Run Mass Effect 5 On My Computer?

Mass Effect 5 (actual title unknown) should be playable on both of the big next-gen consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series-X, as well as on Windows PC, though whether the game will release on them all at the same time remains to be seen. Given the time until the game’s release, we do not have confirmed system requirements for the game at the moment, but we can make an educated guess. See below for the best current estimates for both the minimum and recommended system requirements, obviously though these will be subject to change as the game gets closer to release.

If you aren’t sure what power your current build has, see our quick guide on how to look up your PC specs and compare them against the system requirements below. If it turns out your current PC won’t cut the mustard, see the foot of this page for suggestions on pre-built PC and self-Build PCs at different price points that will likely run the game.

If you want to buy yourself a copy of Mass Effect 5 nearer to its release, see Eneba for the best prices on the game and a raft of others besides.

Mass Effect 5 Game Details

  • Release Date : TBC (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Microsoft Windows)
  • System Requirements : Medium-High
  • Genre : Action RPG
  • Developer : BioWare
  • Publisher : Electronic Arts

Mass Effect 5 will continue on from the plots of both the original trilogy involving Commander Shepheard, and the events of Andromeda. Who the player will control and the range of characters that will feature remains to be seen (hopefully E3 2021 will shed more light on this) but Liara T’Soni at the very least will definitely feature in some capacity. Expect similar RPG elements from the previous games, with a combat system closer to that in Mass Effect Andromeda, though we hope to see some big improvements as well.

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend To Play Mass Effect 5 ?

Mass Effect 5 on the lowest settings at 1080p resolution, will probably require one of our $600 self-builds or something of comparable power. For the higher graphical settings, a $1,500 self-build is what you’ll want to get a respectable FPS or, if you intend to play on higher resolutions as well, a $2,000 build is your best bet.

Clearly, though we’re a big proponent of building your own PC, not everyone wants to do this. In which case we’d also suggest putting together one of our pre-builds for under $800 for running the game at 1080p on the lowest settings, our $1,500 pre-build for the highest graphical settings at 1080p, and our $2,000 pre-build to run the game on those higher resolutions.
