Can I Run New World On My Computer?

The New World system requirements are only moderately demanding – the majority of modern gaming PCs should be able to play the game on low to medium settings and manage a decent average FPS. The official New World system requirements are listed below, though as ever we advise you assume a bit more power is needed in each case just to be on the safe side, as game publishers have a tendency to underestimate these specs to push more units.

If you aren’t sure how to look up the specifications of your current PC, have a quick look at our how to look up your PC specs guide to familiarise yourself. If it transpires your current computer doesn’t meet the system requirements you’re aiming for, do have a look at the suggested list of pre-built and self-build gaming PCs at the foot of this page for some that most definitely will.

New World is currently available to pre order. Check out our New World release date, gameplay and preorder page for more info.

New World is an MMO made by Amazon, which seeks to take on the titans of the genre – namely World Of Warcraft and Final Fantasy 14 Online. New World takes place in a fictional, magical island in the Atlantic called Aeternum Island, during the 1600s, where a group of colonists have become shipwrecked and must survive against the island’s magical inhabitants. The game is visually and thematically heavily inspired by the European colonization of the Americas, only with heavy fantasy and magical elements. There will be three main factions and the usual array of classes to play as within each.

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend To Play New World?

New World will run at 1080p on the lowest graphical settings on a gaming PC as cheap as a $600 self-build computer. High graphical settings will of course require a more expensive rig in order for the game to generate FPS to a playable standard – a $1,000 self-build gaming PC will definitely do the job for 1080p resolution gameplay. 1440p gaming on the higher settings will necessitate something akin to a $1,500 self-build gaming PC, and a $2,000 self-build gaming PC for 4K gaming.

If you don’t fancy building your own PC, a pre-built gaming PC for under $800 will output a decent average FPS for 1080p on the lower settings. Again, the higher graphical presets will need a $1,000 pre-built gaming PC for 1080p, a $1,500 pre-built gaming PC will be required for 1440p gaming, and finally a $2,000 pre-build for 4K gaming.
