Can I Run No Man's Sky On My Computer?
No Man’s Sky was released back in 2016 so isn’t particularly graphically demanding, although it did have a graphical overhaul in 2019 which increased the demands of the game somewhat, including the need for a Vulkan compatible GPU. The official minimum system requirements remain the same as they did back on the game’s release so we have updated them to reflect the need for Vulkan, plus have included our own unofficial recommended system requirements as well. We would advise assuming a bit more oomph is needed than suggested by the minimum system requirements.
If aren’t aware of how to find the specifications of your current PC to check against the below requirements, do check out our how to look up your PC specs guide. If your current machine doesn’t have what it takes, do have a look at the PC builds we have listed at the bottom of this page for different budget levels.

Upon its original release in 2016, No Man’s Sky was one of the biggest letdowns in gaming, but with the various patches since it has enjoyed a big comeback in popularity. Players explore a randomly generated, vibrantly colorful universe, seamlessly moving between space flight to planetary landing to running around on the surface with no loading screens between them. People can band together online and help each other grind for resources, build bases and colonies, interact with the bizarre local wildlife, and now even train them into pets/companions.

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend To Play No Man's Sky?
No Man’s Sky will be playable on a $600 self-build PC on the lowest settings at 1080p, but if you want to crank those graphical settings up to the max a $1,000 self-build PC will be needed for 1080p resolution, a $1,500 self-build for 1440p and finally a $2,000 build for decent FPS when 4K gaming.
Building a PC isn’t everyone’s cup of tea though, and if this includes you a pre-build for under $800 will run No Man’s Sky on low settings at 1080p without a problem. Higher graphical presets will require more oomph though, and a $1,000 pre-built PC will be needed for these settings at 1080p, a $1,500 pre-build for 1440p, and a $2,000 pre-build for those who want a 4K gaming experience.
