Can I Run Splitgate On My Computer?

Splitgate is a moderately demanding game, though will likely be playable on most gaming PCs on at least the low settings for a decent FPS. We have listed the official minimum requirements of Splitgate, as well as our own estimations as to the recommended system requirements for the game (official ones are not currently available), further down this page. Our usual advice when it comes to system requirements is to always assume a little more is needed, just to be sure, as publishers sometimes underestimate these specs to push more units.

If you aren’t sure how to look up the specs of your current PC, do have a looksie at our how to look up your PC specifications guide. If it transpires that your current PC doesn’t quite meet the system requirements, be sure to check out the list of pre-built and self-build gaming PCs listed at the bottom of this page that will get you a solid FPS in the game.

Splitgate is a free-to-play online shooter that has a visual style and gameplay very reminiscent of a fusion of Halo with Portal. Players run around in differently styled sci-fi arena maps, doing all the usual running, jumping, and shooting, but this time – with portals! Mind-bending tactics evolve as players get the drop on their opponents in firefights – either escaping sticky situations through a quickly placed portal, or suddenly appearing right behind their enemy and shooting them in the back!

The game is currently in Beta but has proved hugely popular, and the best part is, it’s free-to-play!

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend To Play Splitgate?

Splitgate is playable at 1080p on the lower graphical presets on a machine as cheap as a $600 self-build gaming PC for decent FPS. Higher graphical settings will of course necessitate something a bit more expensive, and a $1,000 self-build gaming PC will do the job for 1080p play. For 1440p gaming you will need a $1,500 self-build PC if you intend to use the higher graphical presets, and a $2,000 self-build for 4K gaming.

If you aren’t keen on building your own PC, a pre-built gaming PC for under $800 will pump out an acceptable Frame Rate for lower graphical settings gaming at 1080p. Higher graphical settings will need a $1,000 pre-built gaming PC or equivalent for 1080p, a $1,500 pre-built gaming PC will be needed for 1440p gaming, and a $2,000 pre-build is what you should go with if you want to play at 4K.
