Let’s be honest, nearly every one of those desktop pcs on the list above is worth the cash, but there are a couple that really stand out – either in terms of performance or for the amount of money off. So what are the best gaming PC Prime Day deals?

This CORSAIR Vengeance a7300 Gaming PC is a good counterance to our i7400 pick below. 17% off and a $450 saving makes it a particularly juicy pick, if you’re a fan of team AMD. It comes complete with a Ryzen 7 7700X CPU, NVIDIA RTX 4070 GPU and 32GB of DDR5 @ 5600 MHz as standard. Combine that with some impeccable build quality, and a decent cooling solution, inside of the legendary 4000D case, and you’re onto a winner with this one.

Another smashing deal, Alienware’s Aurora R15 Gaming Desktop is currently on sale with an impressive 17% off its asking price as well. That’s a chunky $470 off its asking price. For that you get an impeccable Intel Core i9-13900F, 32GB of DDR5 RAM a 1TB SSD and an RTX 4070 Ti, all in a super slick Alienware chassis. Perfect for 1440p gaming and beyond. Check out the full deal breakdown here.

There’s also the Alienware Aurora R15 Gaming Desktop AMD variant which is similar to the above, but this time coming complete with the Ryzen 9 7900X, 32GB of DDR5 and an NVIDIA RTX 4080 as standard instead, making it an absolute monster when it comes to 4K gaming. Looking for a Starfield killer? This is your PC.

The Thermaltake Reactor 380 Liquid-Cooled PC is without a doubt an absolute bargain, at 29% off and a saving of $800 it’s smoking. The Lenovo Legion Tower 5i Gaming Desktop (2022 model) gives you a ton of performance, thanks to the RTX 3070 GPU and Intel i7-12700F. It’s certainly appealing with $550 off. However our top pick right now would be to go for the current gen. If you’re investing in a new desktop, it’s always better to go with the newer technology as you won’t be need to upgrade it as much.

Take the ABS Eurus Aqua gaming PC – RTX 4080, for example. At $150 off, you’re getting a cutting edge RTX 4080 card and a powerful processor. For those really looking to splash the cash and get an incredible powerful machine, the cutting-edge ASUS ROG G16CH (2023) Gaming Desktop PC is certainly our top pick. The Corsair Vengeance i7400 Series Gaming PC is also a decent pick, thanks to its cutting edge liquid cooled Intel 13th Gen CPU. Be warned, though. The price of these prebuilts may fall as the Intel is about to release 14th-Gen CPU. We have, though, reviewed the 13th Intel CPU extensively, in particular the flagship i9 model. You can check out our i9-13900K review right here if you need more detail.

Why buy a prebuilt? A word from Shaun

Building a PC can be tricky, and for newcomers at least, it’s not advised – especially if you’re dealing with expensive hardware. Prebuilt PCs give you the security that the product has been tested and built properly. We always advise making sure you go for the biggest case possible, though, so if you ever want to swap out your GPU, you have plenty of room to put in a new one. In the case of this list, opt for a 4080 GPU powered PC, the card is huge!

Things to consider when finding a Prime Day gaming PC deals

When it comes to choosing your next gaming PC, particularly if you prefer the convenience of a pre-assembled system, the process can indeed be more straightforward than doing it yourself. In a complete gaming system, each component plays a pivotal role in shaping your overall usage satisfaction. Therefore, it’s essential to be well-informed about what to consider. Below, we’ll outline some key factors to keep in mind.

  • Components: Out of a gaming PC, there are plenty of parts to consider. In particular, pay attention to the GPU inside of it, which will dictate the performance you achieve and you can find reviews for each of these to see what you can expect. But it does need to be paired with an equal CPU for the best experience. You also want plenty of RAM to complement the performance and give you good multitasking performance.
  • Storage Solution: In today’s gaming landscape, game sizes are expanding rapidly. To accommodate this trend, a robust storage solution is essential for a satisfying gaming experience. We recommend NVMe or SSD options for their responsiveness and overall performance enhancement. It’s worth noting that SSDs often come at a higher cost per gigabyte. Considering a combination of SSD and HDD for expanded storage capacity can be a cost-effective choice. Ensure your choice aligns with your specific storage needs.
  • Case and Build Quality: Another critical consideration is the chassis housing your PC. It’s imperative not only to appreciate the aesthetics of the case but also to prioritize one that ensures efficient airflow and effective cooling. This helps prevent thermal throttling, ensuring optimal performance and the durability of your components.

Which GPU for which Resolution?

This is a big question, and it does depend on what games you typically play. Generally speaking though, if we’re looking at the current generation of graphics cards, if you’re gaming at 4K (not on a laptop, they rarely exist), then we highly recommend an RTX 4080 or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT or above, 1440p then an RTX 4070 or 7700 XT (we reviewed the 7700 here), and for 1080p ideally you want to be looking at that RTX 4060 or RX 7600 XT. These should all net you at a minimum 60 fps in all the latest titles at those resolutions, and are surefire picks. If you’re going into a previous generation of GPU, then moving that model number up by one will help (obviously that is only viable for 1-2 generations at certain resolutions).

The outlier 21:9 aspect ratio resolutions, if you’re into those things, are a bit more difficult to buy for. But as a general point of reference check out the table below for a full idea on which GPU might fit the bill. Things such as Corsair’s Xeneon Flex (currently on sale with $600 off) are a great example of why some manufacturers drop a resolution at higher screen sizes, to ensure more GPUs can run the screen effectively.

Which Manufacturer Should I Go With?

The best answer for this is to go with one you trust. One of the main stream brands is always going to be a better decision. Typically, they’ll have better warranties, customer service, and cheaper PCs, as they’ll be able to buy the parts in bulk ahead of time for their builds. Brands such as Thermaltake, Corsair, Cyberpower, MSI, Asus, Origin, Skytech and more all provide fantastic custom prebuilt gaming PC solutions, and are great picks. You can find all of these PCs on Amazon as well, this Prime Day. We’ll also be linking these to our WePC Reddit page as well.

Which CPU Should I Pick? Thoughts from Zak

This is always a tricky one for us to answer, because it does depend on what you want to use your gaming PC for. Are you heavily into streaming or rendering video content? Then something like a current gen Intel Core i9-13900K or AMD Ryzen 9 7900X is a solid pick. If you’re looking to just game, and you don’t care about those frilly activities, then an Intel Core i5-12600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X would easily keep up with the crowd.

If I’m entirely honest, you don’t need much more than that. You will of course see slightly higher frame-rates, in some games, with an Intel Core i9, or Ryzen 9, or any of the 3D chips. But the reality is, the difference is often incredibly negligible, and typically only seen at lower resolutions such as 1080p where frame-rates are much higher anyway. For instance, it’s very easy to test CS2 on an RTX 4090 at 1080p with an Intel Core i5 vs i9, and go “Ha! Look, You get 30 more on the i9”, but the reality is you’re probably already on 300+ fps anyway, and although that is 10% the bigger question is, is that even worth it? Or even noticeable? I’d argue unless you’re in the 0.0001% of esports gamers, and have the monitor to be able to drive those frames, it’s probably not worth it.

Increase the resolution to something more respectful, say, 4K with that RTX 4090 and all of a sudden you’re probably seeing a 3-5% increase in frame-rates instead if that. As the CPU no longer becomes the bottleneck At 100 fps, that’s 3 or 5 fps. Is that really worth all that extra cash on a processor, when you could easily re-allocate that to something more useful like SSD storage, or memory, or cooling?

TL;DR – Get an i9 or Ryzen 9 if you’re rendering, or doing complex tasks, as well as gaming. Get an i5 or Ryzen 5, if you’re just into this mighty hobby of ours for gaming and nothing else

What About Black Friday?

That’s a pretty good question, and one we can’t entirely predict right now. It is likely we’ll see a few extra deals land this Black Friday, whether they’re at or below these price points we see today, or better value than what we have here is yet to be determined. Generally speaking, given the exclusivity of Prime Day Gaming PC Deals, and because inevitably the manufacturers believe that less stock will be bought up now compared to the general furor of Black Friday, you should actually find more aggressive PC deals, than you would otherwise.

As always, we always recommend you look at price comparison sites where you can, or trust in experts like ourselves, to find the best deals out there today.
