After numerous leaks, Activision finally confirmed the new Call Of Duty – Vanguard. The leaks showed us that the new CoD is set in the WW2 period. The game files were leaked through a recent Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War update and gave us a glimpse into what is coming next.

Is Call Of Duty Vanguard A New Game?

Yes, the leaked images showcased WW2-style imagery and some leaked in-game characters that are historically accurate people who fought in the war. It looks as though the new Call Of Duty will be available to buy in three editions: Standard, Cross-gen bundle, and Ultimate.

It has also been rumored that there is going to be a new anti-cheat system with Vanguard that has been under development for over a year and will also be implemented into Warzone too.

It looks as though the engine being used is the same as Modern Warfare 2019, a fan favorite for recent game engines.

Call Of Duty Vanguard Artwork

In the initial leak, we saw some Call Of Duty Vanguard artwork, depicting some characters and a few weapons. While many can make their guesses as to the weapons, seeing as this is supposed to be a historically accurate WW2 shooter, the leaks showed that we are getting gunsmith weapon customization too.

This may not seem accurate, well it isn’t, but one of the fun aspects to the franchise is a bit of customization and I’m sure it will be designed to keep the aesthetic in that era. We saw an MP-40 with a long barrel and a Sten gun with an AK-47 like stock and vertical foregrip, which are not your classical setups, so there has to be customization.

Battle Of Verdansk

On August 19th at 10.30 am PST, 1.30 pm EST, 6.30 pm BST, there is going to be an in-game Warzone event and through this event, you are going to be able to unlock the reveal trailer for Call Of Duty Vanguard. Other than event details, there is next to no information on this, with Activision keeping everything as close to their chest as possible.

With the 19th of August, we would assume the event will run all day to allow people at school or work a chance to find the event when they get home. It would be a real shame if it’s a time-sensitive event but we are just going to have to wait and see.

Warzone will be getting an exclusive Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Battlepass XP event running up to the reveal and 10.30 am PST/1.30 pm EST, ensuring a decent turnout I’m sure.

Call Of Duty Vanguard Release Date

The big reveal release date is around the corner (19th of August) and we are hoping to see some official dates come along with it. The leaks suggest that we are expecting the Call Of Duty Vanguard release date to be on the 5th of November, which makes sense as they love to release their games at this time of year.

Rumors suggest that Call Of Duty Vanguard is going to be on PlayStation first, with an Alpha date set for the 27th of August, however, this hasn’t been officially confirmed. It would be likely to see an Alpha on PC too but we are going to have to wait and see over the coming days.

Call Of Duty Vanguard Pre Order

We aren’t quite sure what dates you are going to be able to pre order Call Of Duty Vanguard but there is a strong chance it is soon, possibly around the first week of September. If you need to pre order the game to play the Alpha, then it could be even sooner but we are going to have to wait and see what the big reveal is on the 19th of August.

Call Of Duty Vanguard Beta

You can be sure there is going to be a Call Of Duty Vanguard Beta, with rumored dates for a Playstation Beta already surfacing for the 16th of September 2021 that will last for around four days. Again, it would be strange if the PC Community wasn’t included in this somehow but it looks as though Xbox players may have to wait a little longer.

We know from the leaks that in order to play the Vanguard Beta, you may have to pre order the Ultimate Edition of the game, which is pretty common these days. The Ultimate edition will no doubt bring a lot of extra bonus items, such as new weapons, characters skins, and possibly early access to Call Of Duty Vanguard.

Call Of Duty Vanguard Beta Filesize

The Vanguard Beta size is unknown at this stage, however, Cold War was around 31GB on PS4, 21GB on Xbox One, and 40GB on PC. Until there is an official announcement, it is all conjecture at this moment in time.

How To Get The Call Of Duty Vanguard Beta

It looks as though you will need to Pre Order Call Of Duty Vanguard to secure early access to the open beta. This is nothing new, however, it may only be for the Ultimate Edition buyers, as shown in some of the recent leaks.

Digital pre order customers on Xbox and PC may get to play at different times to Playstation but all respective platforms will likely be able to download the beta from a first-party store, which will prompt you to download when it becomes available.

Is Call Of Duty Vanguard Cross Platform?

Well if we look at is Warzone cross platform, which it is, we are likely to see the same with Call Of Duty Vanguard. The Call Of Duty franchise also implemented crossplay into Cold War. We are also likely to see cross progression in Vanguard, along with cross generation too, although nothing is confirmed at this stage.

Call Of Duty Vanguard System Requirements

If you are wondering – Can I run Call Of Duty Vanguard on PC, we are going to be taking a look at previous titles to roughly determine what sort of system you may need. We are going to use the Modern Warfare 2019 requirements to give us a guideline as we think it will be close but bear in mind that the new dynamic weather and enhanced graphics may mean you need a slightly stronger setup than shown below.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Operating System – Windows 7 64-bit (SP1) or Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor – Intel Core i3-4340 or AMD FX-6300
  • Graphics Card – Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 / GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon HD 7950 – DirectX 12.0 compatible
  • Memory – 8GB RAM
  • Storage – 175GB

Recommended System Requirements

  • Operating System – Windows 10 64-bit latest update
  • Processor – Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD Ryzen R5 1600X
  • Graphics Card – Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 / GTX 1660, or AMD Radeon R9 390 / RX 580 – DirectX 12.0 compatible
  • Memory – 12GB
  • Storage – 175GB

Final Word

The Call Of Duty Vanguard reveal is almost here and we can’t wait for the Alpha playtesting to commence, so we can start seeing some gameplay. At this stage, I don’t know if I’m more excited for the multiplayer or singleplayer but as long as we don’t get another Call Of Duty: WW2, I’ll be happy, that game was trash. Ideally, we get an updated CoD2, now that would be special but before I delve into more conjecture I best wait for the Battle of Verdansk event in a few days first.
