Sturdy, but lightweight
The SteelSeries Arctis Pro has a rather simple, but robust design. The airwave fabric earcups feel great – even after long periods, and the build quality feels like it’ll stand up to plenty of hard gaming sessions. The breathable fabric also ensures that they don’t make your ears feel like they’re swimming in sweat after a particularly intense round of your favourite shooter.
GameDAC
The ace up the SteelSeries Arctis Pro headset is the GameDAC controller device – this is a little piece of hardware that’s very powerful – and you can plug the Arctis Pro into it to get even more control over the sounds coming into your ears.
This little dongle lets you change settings like EQ, audio quality, microphone levels, and much, much more. It was one of the highlights of our review – and we found adjusting each setting to be very straightforward too. – Best of all, you can do all of this without having to interrupt your game by opening software – as all the controls are right there on the GameDAC.
Microphone
The SteelSeries Arctis Pro headset comes equipped with one of our favorite microphones. The ClearCast technology sounds crisp, clear – and even includes background noise cancellation – so even if you’re in person with your teammates, their yells shouldn’t drown yours out.
While it may not be to everyone’s tastes, the microphone also comes with some RGB lighting, which can be adjusted either with the GameDAC or within the SteelSeries Engine software.
