As Stadia and Xbox battle it out for control of the cloud gaming space (please leave them alone Xbox, it’s already dead!) you’d be forgiven for not knowing about Luna, Amazon’s own US-exclusive competitor in that gaming space.
Using a bluetooth controller and an active subscription, you can play a wide variety of game software from the biggest studios in the industry through the cloud with Luna. While it’s true you can do all that without proprietary Amazon technology like the Fire TV Stick 4K and Luna Controller, this gaming bundle is a simple and easy way to jump in for the casual gamer.
The Luna Controller is powered by Cloud Direct technology, which lets it tap directly into Amazon’s custom game servers when playing on Luna to minimise latency and let you swap screen displays with minimal effort. Luna does require players to pay an active subscription of $5.99 a month after free trial, which positions it as a cheaper alternative to both Google Stadia and Xbox Game Pass. That said, you should also be able to use those apps with this controller, so if you can always jump around like you might with video streaming services.
Speaking of video services, the Fire TV Stick 4K is up to date with the latest trends and will let you watch lots of those, including shows from Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, YouTube and Pluto TV.
