Samsung is currently running a Christmas deal campaign called “Discover Samsung Event”, giving fans of the brand an opportunity to save big on one of the company’s leading hardware products.

The Samsung Ark is an incredibly cool, futuristic looking monitor that would increase the aesthetic prowess of almost any gaming setup. It’s wide swooping 1000R curve pairs nicely with the huge 55-inch display to create a starship vibe that is unlike anything on the market today.

The Ark also performs to a pretty high level as well. It offers a decent sRGB preset right out of the box for color accurate work, alongside decent fluidity when playing both single-player and more competitive titles.

Having said that, we can’t ignore the sheer size (and price) of this behemoth monitor. At 55-inches, it is simply too big for most people’s living space. Additionally, with a price tag that currently sits at around £2,500 ($3,500), it will far exceed most peoples budgets.

Alongside a slew of high-performance specifications, the Samsung Ark also featured a never-before-seen, fully-rotational 55-inch display that looked like something out of your favourite sci-fi movie.

Is the Samsung Odyssey Ark worth it?

At its new price of $2,499, you’d have to say that the Ark is an extremely attractive prospect right now. You can snap up the Ark at over $1,000 off right now, making it an extremely worthwhile investment.

At its core lies an incredibly powerful Mini LED 55-inch display, driven by a 165Hz refresh rate and low 1ms GTG response time. As far as performance goes, it’s hard to knock this monitor from a visual standpoint.

Having said that, due to the scale of this mammoth panel, it’s hard to recommend for all users. That said, it’s still a real centre piece and one that should certainly be on your wishlist if space is no object.
