Let’s not beat around the bush, one of the main reasons why people buy a gaming chair – or any chair for that matter – is down to the comfort they offer. Comfort is hugely important in a gaming chair, mainly because you’ll be using one for extended periods of time.

Whilst many gaming chairs look the same in pictures, the comfort they offer is often wildly different. For that reason, we’ll be look at the main gaming chair brands to find the most comfortable in today’s market.

FAQs

Is Dowinx a Good Brand?

First thing’s first, Dowinx chairs aren’t designed to occupy the highest levels of the market, so they don’t include all the specialist appointments that, say, a high-end Secretlab chair would. Still, that hasn’t stopped them popping up on ‘best of’ lists all over the internet.

Ranging from just over $200 to roughly $290, Dowinx chairs are designed for a multitude of body types, which is rare for a newer contender in the gaming chair market. Most of their products are fitted with 5 inches of high-density foam, and some even feature lumbar supports with a USB-powered massage function. Pretty sweet, eh?

Dowinx upholstery is always top-notch. You won’t find any loose threads, and the PU skin remains taut to the foam, but they’re not perfect designs. Some of their chairs are known to develop a bit of an irritating squeak as you lean back into the tilt.

Is DXRacer a Good Brand?

DXRacer is the OG gaming chair brand. Without them, our keisters would have lived a very different, very sore life up until now, so DXRacer…you have the eternal gratitude of our sweet cheeks!

The question is, having paved the way for all the other fantastic gaming chair brands, has DXRacer managed to keep up? Well, we’re happy to report that they are indeed holding their own in the dog-eat-dog world of gaming chairs.

Still considered the top gaming chair brand in the world, it’s clear that DXRacer’s experience is paying off in the now. Structurally speaking, they’re exquisitely designed, and they’re comfortable enough to sit out a 12-hour stream with no issues. They don’t develop any irritating squeaks or clicks, and the foams hold out well; however, some gamers do have a few gripes about their DXRacer stumps.

The most prominent complaint you’ll hear is that the upholstery and quality control can be somewhat lacking, amounting to jarringly asymmetric stitch patterns. It’s only a cosmetic issue, but considering a top-of-the-line DXRacer can set you back as much as $500, this isn’t really acceptable.

Is GTRacing a Good Brand?

GTRacing gaming chairs are often viewed as the ideal option for buttocks on a budget, evidenced by the fact there isn’t a single chair in their current Pro lineup that costs over $180. But are the cheap seats cheap for a reason?

On a purely feature-based scale, there’s nothing cheap about GTRacing chairs. They often have a fully horizontal recline, a fantastic tilt function, sturdy 3D armrests, and high-quality adjustable lumbar and neck supports.

It’s when you assess these chairs on a material basis that you begin to see where some costs have been cut. The internal cushions, for example, tend to measure around 3 inches thick. It’s not a huge problem if you don’t weigh much, but a serious case of numb bum is an inevitability for the heavier gamers among us.

All things considered, GTRacing is a reliable brand that makes epic entry-level chairs that punch well above their weight.

Is Hbada a Good Brand?

Hbada’s primary focus is the ergonomic office chair, but that’s not to say they don’t dabble with gaming designs every now and again. Being that high-spec office chairs are considered superior to standard gaming chairs, the gaming arena seems a great place for Hbada’s expertise.

Unfortunately, though, they decided to compete at the lower end of the market rather than go for the crown, and as such, their gaming chairs are decidedly average. Don’t get us wrong, they’re a fantastic option for buns on a budget, but their frames tend to be a little flimsy and the upholstery a little loose from said frames. The internal cushions would benefit from an extra inch or so of foam, but if we had to choose between Hbada and GTRacing for pure comfort, we’d still go with Hbada.

Is Killabee a Good Brand?

Killabee is another respectable brand duking it out in the lower portions of the gaming chair market. Their chairs tend to be pretty rich in features, often arriving with flip out footrests, near horizontal reclines, and smooth casters. They also feature nice, thick internal cushions, which is essential for gaming marathons.

With two lines centered around smaller, lighter gamers, and two lines leaning more towards big and tall gamers, Killabee seems to have a pretty respectable body-positive ethos, which we absolutely love. The smaller 9015 series chairs; however, are particularly tiny. The seats aren’t as wide, and the backrests aren’t as tall as other chairs around the same price point.

The stitching on Killabee chairs isn’t exactly top-notch, and the padding seems to be minutely uneven or unformed in certain areas, but for the price you’re paying, you can’t sweat the small stuff.

Is Von Racer a Good Brand?

Von Racer gaming chairs will usually set you back something to the tune of $250, and they come loaded with some nifty features like a deep recline and massaging lumbar support. Unfortunately, though, these chairs aren’t exactly renowned for their comfort.

The internal cushions are far too thin, and the separate cushion isn’t all that great either. It’s fine if you only plan on playing for an hour or two, but for streamers who need support throughout the day, it’s just not enough.

Von Racer chairs are a bit rough around the edges. We know they’re around half the price of the all-singing, all-dancing gaming super thrones currently available, but with other budget brands bringing their A-game in 2021, Von Racer risks being left behind.
