Okay – Purple gaming chairs? The tricky thing here is one person’s purple is another person’s lilac. “That’s not a purple gaming chair!”, you cry “It’s obviously Plum!”. yeah, yeah, yeah, and that one is probably violet or lavender. Look, for the sake of this, they are all purple right?
If it happens to be mauve to you, it’s on this page. For artistic reasons, we are grouping all shades of purple under the one banner. The Pantone Police can complain all they like.
Another thing worth mentioning is that we realize not everybody wants a huge purple chair in the corner of the room, so we are including those with a more tasteful violet, I mean purple trim as well.
If the chair contains enough purple it can appear here (for clarification, we don’t mean if it has purple piping or a purple safety label, the actual theme needs to be purple.
Man, that was more complicated than I expected when I started out. I’m hoping Best White Gaming Chair will be simpler
Best Purple Gaming Chairs: First Look
Secretlab ‘The Joker’
You should know by now we love Secretlab Chairs at WePC. Our entire office is decked out with them and we all use them daily. They are great. We even have some of the themed chairs, such as this Joker dotted around.
The thing about Secretlab chairs is once you have constructed one it immediately feels like you have got it for life. they are sturdy, durable, and comfortable. Why would you ever want to get rid of it? With such a high degree of customization and movement, you can position it how you like, whenever you like. Want to recline all the way, go for it. Need a straight back to reduce that aching spine, just click it into place. It’s great.
This seat from Vertagear ticks the box if you are after a gaming chair styled in the more traditional racing manner. tastefully bedecked in purple and white, it’s a chair that would look good on a stream!
Nobody likes building furniture (do they?) so the one-person assembly “slide-in” design is a bit plus point here. You can be sat on it and gaming away in comfort in literally minutes.
The aesthetic means it won’t suit everybody for sure, but if you like the look of a GT Racer type seat, coupled with the fact it comes with a lumbar and head pillow styled in to blend seamlessly, you can’t really find a better-looking example of the racing breed easily.
Coming in at around a third of the price of the chairs from the big brands, is there an argument you can get away without spending a fortune on a seat. Well, Yes and no. Read on.
Let’s start off by underlining that what you are getting here for your money is a budget option. If you can live with that, accept it and not expect to get the levels of comfort and adjustability you get with the big-named brands, then you might be able to put the extra couple of hundred dollars you save into that new GPU for your PC instead. It all depends on what you want in the long run.
Gaming chairs aren’t generally cheap, to begin with, but then occasionally you come across some which seem to be extremely high priced. This model for Pig-Girl is one such entity.
This chair from Pig-Girl is more of an office chair than a racing chair in design, although the actual pattern lends itself towards the racer. It’s not out and out purple, more of a lilac but has the advantage of being a bigger chair to cater to all sizes of humans.
It’s important to realize here that you are going to be buying a piece of furniture that will hopefully last you many years, and, more importantly, provide you with a level of comfort while you are sat at your PC, that you might not have previously had. Therefore, before you click Buy, spare a thought for the following.
The cost of gaming chairs can vary quite dramatically. the big-name companies are all going to be charging considerably more for their wares but there is a reason for that. generally, the materials used are of much higher quality, this is how the cheaper manufacturers can trim down their price so much. With this trimming down also comes a reduction in comfort. Extra support cushions aren’t included, the foam used in the seat and back sections won’t be as high quality and may lose its shape quicker than you would like. The seat itself might not recline or even feel as sturdy.
What we are saying, and we certainly don’t always suggest you go for the higher ticket items, but when it comes to gaming chairs you generally get what you pay for. It all depends on how happy you are to compromise.
The last couple of years have definitely seen a move away from the huge gamification of gaming chairs. No longer are we only different bright green chairs with orange lightning bolts emblazoned across them but you can now get high-quality gaming chairs that do not look out of place in any corner of your home. You need to decide whether you want one that’s more akin to a big padded ‘bosses’ office chair or stick with the racing-style so popular in years gone by. It’s also worth considering you may redecorate before your chair reaches the end of its life so that bright yellow racing chair may not fit in so well in the future.
Best Purple Gaming Chairs
Secretlab ‘The Joker’
PRIME™ 2.0 PU leather
Class 4 safe
Can recline almost horizontally
Included lumbar and head pillows
Premium product so cost to match
Can have fiddly moments during construction
Secretlab has established itself very quickly as one of the go-to brands when you want to make sure you are getting the best value for money from your gaming chair investment. With a range that covers the more sedate, to officially licensed, branded chairs like this one they have you covered. The Joker chair comes with pretty much as many customizable options as the rest. You can choose your upholstery from the company’s own Prime 2.0 leather, to fabric to premium Napa leather.
We are particularly looking at a seat’s purpleness as well here and The Joker’s seat fits that bill being entirely Joker purple. There are also purple design flashes on the seatback, as well a purple and green Joker logo on both sides of the seat back – this might be the part that doesn’t suit everybody’s tastes or decor, but if you are a Batman fan it could also be right up your alley.
Secretlab had such a stellar 2020 they are fighting to keep up with demand so you may see a pre-order time as they work hard to get back on top of orders, but the reason they get such a lot of orders to backfill is that they are so desirable. Don’t be put off by a wait time. This is a chair you will have for many years to come in the future.
Castors run smoothly on any surface
Cushion and pillow included
White seats always look grubby in time
Very “gamer” in design.
There never used to really be a choice. Gaming chairs were all in this racing style. Then we had the X-rocker type seat before companies such as Secretlab came along and styled things in a slightly different way. Racing style chairs are still extremely popular, however, especially with streamers and the like, and we have to admit, this purple and white offering from Vertagear really catches the eye. Yes, the design is out and out racing but if you like that then the colors blend beautifully.
We particularly like the way the lumbar support and the head pillow are designed to blend in sumptuously with the overall design of the chair. It just looks really good.
It’s also really easy to construct as well, literally just sliding together, so you won’t need to muster a second pair of hands to complete any tricky bits. It has a maximum weight recommendation of 150llbs so if you are on the larger side then a racing-style chair may not be for you. Otherwise, if you are looking for a splash of purple in your set-up that oozes class and a hint of speed, look no further.
Easy to construct
Chair can lower itself of its own accord
No extra support cushions
This is a tough one and you might be wondering what we are playing at recommending a purple gaming chair that scores less than 4 stars overall. We realize though that not everybody had $400 dollars to splurge on a new chair, and if that person is you, then you may well want to consider this budget option. Is it anywhere near as good as the chairs from Secretlab or Vertagear – absolutely not. Is it a purple gaming chair that will do its job and do it to a satisfactory level for much less money? Absolutely yes.
It goes without saying the build quality isn’t as good. It should also be said that it’s not as comfortable. But if you are one of those people who have been locked down all year on a kitchen chair or a $40 office chair from IKEA then it is still a sizeable upgrade.
It’s simple to put together,m take about 20 minutes or so, and as long as you don’t assume you will be using it in five years or so you can’t go wrong, We double the cushions will last as the material isn’t the same standard as the pro chairs on this page and the hydraulics are a bit puny looking and occasionally you might find yourself nearer the floor than you started out, but factor in the reduced cost and what you get and it certainly could be a consideration.
Suitable for most sizes
Great tilt options
We mention in the Things to Consider section that one of the areas budget chair manufacturers cut back on for cost is in the materials used in the chair’s cushions. This is the opposite here. This premium chair from Pig Girl used hight quality high-density foam encased in PU leather to provide a firm seat for your posterior. Alongside the Secretlab chair, this offering can recline back to almost horizontal, perfect for a quick nap if you have space. Its biggest issue aside from the price is the design and coloring are going to be too niche for many, but if you want a purple gaming chair that doesn’t look like the color of a throne and are in the market for something a little more subtle, this could fit that bill. Just be prepared to pay!
It’s no huge surprise, I am sure, that we are selecting the Secretlab chair as our best in show here. The Vertagear and Pig-Girl are both good seats but for different reasons, they aren’t getting our nod. The Secretlab is more comfortable than both and half the price of crazily priced Pig-Girl, If a racing-style chair is what you are after then it may be you prefer the Vertagear. Equally, if you simply don’t have the funds for any of our three options mentioned so far then our budget pic is decent, albeit not going to last you anywhere near as long as the others. If you simply must have a purple gaming chair and only have around the $100 mark though then we suggest you have a look at it.
There’s never been a better time to get a gaming chair. Treat your back and your backside to a little more comfort. They deserve it.
