Samsung have officially confirmed that a new range of Odyssey OLED monitors will be making their debut at CES 2024, which leads us to figuring out the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 2024 release date. So, CES 2024 will set the stage for the OLED G9 2024 announcement. In fact, that’s exactly what we saw last year at CES 2023 when Samsung announced their previous OLED G9 model. Based on what we’ve seen in the past, we don’t expect the new display to release right away, nor within January. Last year, it took until June for the OLED G9 to be released – and we expect this timeframe to repeat itself in 2024.

With that, we predict that the new Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 will release in late Q2 or early Q3 2024. It honestly seems like it would be too early to launch yet another OLED G9 – especially since Samsung already released two different variants during 2023 (the G95SC and G93SC), the latter coming without the additional smart features. So we don’t expect Q1 for example.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 2024 price speculation

Moving on to the price of the new OLED G9, and we don’t expect it to be much cheaper than previous iterations. To refresh your memory, let’s have a look at pricing so far on release:

  • Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 G95SC price: $2,199.99
  • Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 G93SC price: $1,599.99

The G93SC did arrive a few months later and falls $200 under the newer $1,799.99 price of the G95SC, so the price of the OLED G9 2024 may follow suit and drop in price not too long after it launches. Either way, on launch, we expect this 2024 model to retail close to the $2000 mark, as it will indeed include the Samsung Smart TV and Gaming Hub features.

Will the new Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 be worth it?

Whether the new Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 will be worth it or not is a matter of what you want from the display. As per the details Samsung have release so far, the it features largely the same specs as the G95SC, but with some ‘other upgraded features’. It is called the G95SD model, which is evidently a small step up. The panel will feature OLED Glare-Free technology and have been upgraded to now feature Multi Control for easier device connectivity and control of other Samsung devices.

Overall, we don’t think it’s worth buying if you already have a previous OLED G9 model. However, if you’re looking for the very latest tech and want all your Samsung devices easily synced to one place, it’s an appealing option. The initial price tag will certainty be a big ask for many though.
