Although Maya grew up and lived among the F1 cars and beaches of Monaco, she spent more time indoors playing on her Xbox 360. As she grew up, so did her love for games, particularly narrative-based games. She loved games that told a story or got her attached to characters. Now, Maya writes both articles about the latest games but also is writing her own novel. She one day hopes to be writing for games herself, especially fantasy RPGs!

Update: September 14. Apex Legends new collection update is officially here, bringing in the new Rampart update and new collection event.
Apex Legends 1.80 Patch Notes
Some players on consoles are getting a new Apex Legends version 1.80, leading many to ask about what the new Apex Legends 1.80 patch notes are. The most up to date content are, in fact, the Apex Legends 1.79 update that launches September 14. However, the 1.80 appears to be a preload build only select consoles gamers have gotten. No doubt 1.80 will be a thing, it just isn’t just yet.
Apex Legends Tap Strafing
Oh, one other thing, Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that the Apex Legends Tap Strafing mechanic is staying, for now. The reason why is because it seems that Respawn Entertainment is finding other bugs resulting from the strafing changes. Therefore, the mechanic is not changing for now, and Respawn will still actively work on it but only push the tap strafing changes when they know it’s good for the game and player skill. It could release when the actually Apex Legends version 1.80 patch notes launch, but that is mere speculation.
Movement is sacred in Apex. We weigh every change to these systems carefully and value feedback.
After further testing, we've concluded we need to take more time to get this right to make sure related movement mechanics aren't caught in the cross-fire.
