When they settle, though, they stay: they build cities to last for the ages, and great kingdoms that can persist for long centuries, more regards for the humans to outlive and leave a legacy over the more aged and older other races. An individual human might have a relatively short life span, but a human nation or culture preserves traditions with origins far beyond the reach of any single human’s memory. They live in the now but also plan for the future, striving to leave a lasting legacy. Individually and as a group, humans are adaptable opportunists, and they stay alert to changing political and social dynamics.

Mechanically, Humans have a flat bonus to all their abilities. This rounds them into a race who are well-versed for just about any class, while they may not gain the additional boost in racial features that other races too, having a more average and flat set of stats can lead to a lot more opportunities and less debuffs. As such, there is no real right or wrong answer for which class to play as a human. There are many options, you can easily specialise into a mage or perhaps a melee class, and although you might not have quite the high stats that other races do, you’ll have the most average experience. As such, Humans are particularly recommended for the player who wants to indulge in the story and world as much as possible. Other races are less likely to ostrasize you, and you won’t be targetted for racism, as such you’ll have the chance to explore the story in a rather ‘vanilla’ way.

Final Thoughts

There is no perfect class for humans, instead you have many different opportunities before you depending on the type of playstyle you want exactly. Humans are a blank slate, which means you can truly and completely customize them and make them your own. You won’t be intrinsicely attached to a pre-written culture or state, you won’t be inherantly fiend-related or from nomadic druids, instead humans allow you to be exactly who you want to be. If you’re not that fussed about the RPG elements, or maybe you just want to enjoy the story with as few hurdles as possible, then human is the best bet.
