Class System returns

Classes were ditched for Battlefield 2042 and replaced with a new Specialist system. However, thankfully Classes will once again be returning in the 3.2 update.

In a blog post by the developers, we were shown some admirable responses to feedback, listening to the fans and vowing to bring back classes.

In their words: “The return to the Class system will shake up how you are used to playing Battlefield 2042, from Gadgets and Equipment now being attached to the Class of your particular choosing, to how you’re approaching the role of that Class as you play throughout your matches.”

Map changes

We already know that Breakaway is receiving a big rework during Battlefield 2042 Season 3. This was showcased in the video put out by developers, displaying how it will look and feel whilst playing.

Check that out in the post below.

That’s all we’ve got so far. But, we’ll be updated this page as soon as we have any more information on the Battlefield 2042 patch notes for Update 3.2.

Battlefield 2042 Season 3 Roadmap

EA/DICE have shared a rough road map for Season 3 and what’s coming up in Season 4.

According to the roadmap, the second update of Season 3 will introduce a huge rework to the arctic Breakaway map. In the updated version, the entire oil rig has been brought in closer to the rest of the action. The flags have also been all but completely rearranged.

Season 4 will likely land sometime in March, and will add the final new specialist to Battlefield 2042. While EA/DICE has not revealed the specialist yet, the developer says that it will be going the way of recon class.

Season 5 is said to not include a new operator, but will instead get the usual treatment of a new map and gear.
