COD pro Youtuber, Metaphor, vouches for the insane stopping power of a new MP5 - The Lachmann Sub
Warzone 2 streamer and YouTuber, Metaphor, has recently dubbed the Lachmann Sub as an immensely strong contender for the top SMG spot in Warzone 2. He claims in his video that his SMG loadout for the Lachmann Sub strongly reminds him of an “OG MP5” style of gun-play we are used to in Verdansk; another classic meta from the first Warzone game.

The Lachmann Sub is a fast paced weapon that leans heavily into quick, close quarter pushes and intense encounters where you can easily get the drop on people in Al Mazrah. Whilst at the beginning of his review he admits that the Fennec (another contender for top SMG spot) is “easier to use” and shoots quicker than the Lachmann.
He adds that whilst the Lachmann might be a learning curve at first, this new MP5 “does more damage”, and if you’re “hitting your shots”, it kills quicker than the Fennec; something he later goes on to prove in his demonstration.
Whilst he stays firm on his position, Metaphor also mentions that the two (Fennec and Lachmann) are interchangeable, with one pulling up the other’s weaknesses and vice versa.
Pistols are “better in general” according to Metaphor for close quarter interactions, yet with an inevitable ‘nerf’ inbound for them, it’ll be “back to SMGs”, he says. That means prepping SMG class loadouts like these.
Verdict
Overall, he is optimistic about the nerfs and buffs of Season 1, and is confidently optimistic that the Lachmann Sub – a relative of the stopping power and speed of the OG MP5 – can remain a comfortable meta.
