With some folks having sorted their preloads already, but with there still being time to preorder the game to get it as soon as one can, a lot of fans are asking: Can you play Jedi Survivor early? And is there early access?

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor is now just a few hours away, and while it might be a little impatient, players will want to know if there’s any chance of being able to boot up early. Well, we’ve got all the details here.

Is there Star Wars: Jedi Survivor early access?

In short, no. There is no early access for Star Wars: Jedi Survivor and there is no way of playing it early. There is also no Star Wars Jedi Survivor free trial or demo of the game available, and it won’t be on GamePass. It’s also not worth trying the New Zealand trick – and we explain why here. Finally, as we detail in our breakdown of the Deluxe Edition of Jedi Survivor, the Deluxe edition does not grant any additional head start or early access.

That might sound a bit doom and gloom from an access point of view – and certainly a playing early point of view, but there is good news to help offset this a bit: the Jedi Survivor Deluxe Edition will be on EA Play Pro. So, you won’t need to purchase the game at full price if you want to play it, rather upgrade your EA Play membership from Basic to Pro. (Note: this is only on PC.)

EA Play Pro costs £14.99 per month or £89.99 per year and includes a number of games – from the latest PGA Tour to Need for Speed games and the newest Madden entries. If you’re thinking about picking up a few EA games, this could well be the best move if you want to get your hands on Star Wars: Jedi Survivor without paying full price.

If you do want to pick up just the game, the good news is that Jedi Survivor seems to have reviewed very well (you can check out Videogamer.com’s handy review round-up if you want a sneak peak). When can I play Jedi Survivor?

Now, this is arguably the next best question after looking for early access. We have a whole page, complete with a countdown clock, dedicated to the Star Wars Jedi Survivor release time, that’ll give you the earliest time by region that you can play the game. The long and the short of it, in brief, is that you can play Jedi Survivor come midnight ET / 5am BST on April 28th. Combine this unlocking and release time with a pre-order – and an alarm clock possibly – and you’ll have the best recipe for playing as early as possible.

Can you play Jedi Survivor early if you pre-order?

Unfortunately, the answer here is still no. Whereas some games will unlock early for those who pre-order, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is not one of those games. The best thing you can do in the absence of that is pre-order a digital copy, and get your Jedi Survivor preload situation all in order and set on April 25th before the release date.

Are there Star Wars Jedi Survivor pre-order bonuses?

In the absence of early access, a pre-order is your best bet for getting the game into your hands as soon as is possible at or after release. And if you do place a pre-order, you will also get yourself some cool extra cosmetic items. If you go for the Standard Edition of the game (physical or digital) you’ll get an Obi-Wan Kenobi-inspired ‘Jedi Survival’ cosmetic pack (an outfit, a blaster skin, and a lightsaber skin), and if you go for the Deluxe Edition, you’ll get that set, plus the ‘New Hero’ and ‘Galactic Hero’ cosmetic packs.
