How to change your name in Clash of Clans

So you’ve grown tired of your old username and now you want to change your name in Clash of Clans. Well good luck! It’s a pretty easy thing to do, and all players can change their name for free once. That way you can enjoy the game with a username you both like and enjoy.

To change your name, you’ll need to meet one pre-requirement. The feature to change your name unlocks at Town Hall level 5.

Once you’re set, you can open the in-game Settings window and then press “More Settings”. Then there will be an option to “Change name”. Follow the on-screen instructions. Sadly, you can’t use special characters (like emojis) in your username.

After you’ve changed your name once like this, the following time you’ll want to change your name in-game, you’ll need Gems.

But you should keep in mind!

• Each time you change your name, the cost for the next name change increases. So choose your name wisely!
• Clash of Clans reserve the right to change any inappropriate names at their own discretion, with no compensations. They do not change usernames upon request.
