There are a variety of bosses in Core Keeper, which you’re going to beat to progress through the game. One of those is Ghorm the Devourer, who is the second boss in Core Keeper. Ghorm is a giant beetle worm thing, which you can see travelling around the map in the Clay Caverns. For those who want to beat the boss and progress, here is everything you need to know to beat Ghorm the Devourer and progress deeper into Core Keeper.

How to beat Ghorm the Devourer in Core Keeper

Core Keeper Ghorm the Devourer Strategy
Use traps and bombs to easily beat this boss.

The first thing you’re going to want to do is to find the cavern the boss manoeuvres around. As you explore the Clay Caverns biome, you can come across a giant tunnel with a distinct texture and material the area is made out of. The area is also likely fitted with a mixture of slime and larvae, helping to indicate you’ve found the right tunnel. Also, while in the area, you may hear the sound of something large moving closer to you, indicating the boss is indeed on its way down the tunnel at that very moment. Once you have the location, keep a note on it.

If you’re struggling to find it naturally you can make a detector once you’ve killed the first boss using 5 machinery and ancient gemstones. Using it will ping the location of the boss on the map.

The next thing you want to do is start farming tin ore. You’re also going to need to farm bomb peppers and slime so you can make bombs from an alchemy lab. It’s important to beat this boss, as the boss follows a direct path, making it easy to plant bombs and create traps.

We recommend making at least 80 spike traps to cheese the boss when you get around to farming. The first time WePC tried this strategy was using roughly 35 traps, and it seemed to bring the boss down to 50% HP. Also, the boss can destroy the spike traps, so make sure you have the right amount and can kill the boss; otherwise, its a lot of wasted tin.

We recommend making a slime mob farm, or going out in the world and collecting slimes as you go. Alternatively, you should set up a farm of bomb peppers and store them as a reagent for making bombs at an alchemy lab. While those plants are growing, you should continue your search for farming tin.

With that said, you should be able to kill the boss and plant bombs as you hear the boss coming down. With these two steps, you should be able to kill the boss with ease.
