Cyberpunk 2077 has been on an upwards trend since its launch. Initially, the game was released in a total state, buggy and broken. Over the last couple of years, however, CD Projekt Red has been patching up the game to fix content, as well as adding new content. But do we know what’s in Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.7?

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.7- What Might Be Coming?

In the last Night City Wire in which CD Projekt Red detailed the contents of Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6, they also mentioned some stuff that’s coming further down the line in future patches, such as in Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.7.

The major things discussed by the developers are as follows:

• Full Vehicle To Vehicle Combat Overhaul
• Police System Overhaul
• New Perk Tree Interactions

What this amounts to is a not-so-subtle acknowledgment and admission that the police system in Cyberpunk is downright broken. Police will spawn behind you if you so much as think about committing a crime, while also despawning the second you’re not looking at them. They don’t give chase at all, and they have the collective memory of a goldfish.

Vehicle To Vehicle combat is also something that was present in pre-launch materials, but just never made it to the final game in any significant capacity outside of certain story missions. The hope here is that CD Projekt Red will use this opportunity to finally turn Cyberpunk 2077 into what it has the potential to be.

It’s unclear as to whether or not these are planned for Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.7 though, or if they’re planned for the future expansion, Phantom Liberty. Phantom Liberty isn’t due for launch until 2023, so if it is the case that these updates will come with that, players could be waiting a while for these all-important features.

When Might Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.7 Release?

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.5 launched in February, while Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6 launched earlier this month, With that in mind, it’s likely we’ll be waiting until the start of next year for any future patches at minimum, and that’s without any internal delays or issues that CD Projekt Red themselves may face. While this may upset a lot of players, it’s a necessary evil if we want Cyberpunk 2077 to hit the potential that it could hit.

When Did Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6 Release?

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6 was released in early September and is the last major patch to last-generation systems. The upcoming expansion, new content updates, and improvements will simply not be on PS4 and Xbox One, with CD Projekt Red themselves stating that:

“We’ve made the difficult decision to develop it only for PC, Stadia, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as the scope for the expansion makes releasing it for previous-gen consoles technologically challenging without compromising player experience.”

What New Content Was Included In Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6?

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6 mainly contained updates for Cyberpunk Edgerunners, with a few new missions being included in the update.
