To celebrate the sixth anniversary of DBD, Behaviour are throwing a Twisted Masquerade Ball, celebrating the Entity, The Dredge and Haddie Kaur, as well as other killers and survivors. The Dead By Daylight event will feature a bunch of in-game freebies – such as Bloodpoints, Iridescent Shards and cosmetic items, as well as a new event Tome and even some global community challenges.

Here, we’re going to run through everything you can expect from the Dead by Daylight anniversary event 2022, Twisted Masquerade.

Twisted Masquerade – Dead by Daylight’s 6th Anniversary event

Daily discounted Shrine of Secrets

DBD Twisted Masquerade Shrine of Secrets Day 2

The Shrine of Secrets is getting a change of pace to celebrate the DBD anniversary. Instead of rotating weekly, the Shrine will be rotating daily during the Twisted Masquerade. Not only that, but each Perk will be discounted, too, so there’ll be no better time to check the Shrine and get those rare, game-changing Perks. However, tread carefully, as close to 40 Perks will be overhauled in an upcoming balance change.

For the first day of the event, the Shrine of Secrets holds Boil Over, Empathy, Forced Penance and Lightborn, all with 25% off at 1,500 Iridescent Shards each. We definitely recommend the two Survivor Perks if you’ve not get them, as they are among some of the most popular.

And, if you’re looking to try a new build or want to know which are the most popular Perks you should be keeping an eye out for in the Shrine, then have a read through our guide to the all-time most played Killers, Survivors and Perks, as revealed by Behaviour Interavtive!

Twisted Masquerade map makeover

The Killer shack, exit gates and more are being reskinned for the event, with some interesting effects coming into play across whole maps. Expect lots of hints of luxurious royal blue and gold, with streamers, banners, fairy lights and balloons turning The Fog into a pretty party destination.

New event-themed character cosmetics

If you’re not dressed the part, you’re not coming in.

DBD Twisted Masquerade Invitation Totem

Like last year’s pedestal hunt, you’ll still be searching for blue and gold masquerade totems across the map, holding invitations to the Masquerade ball. Interact with these totems (as seen in the image above) to collect these invitations, and you’ll unlock one of 12 unique masquerade masks each time you escape/win – there are six masks for Survivors, and six for the Killers. And, rather than last year’s generic crowns, this year’s anniversary cosmetics will be character-specific this year. Finally, each will be allocated randomly, regardless of the character you’re playing with.

Sadly, not every character is getting an anniversary cosmetic this year, with only some DBD originals getting invited. Even worse, most of them are paid-for characters if you’re a Steam player. Hopefully, with a boost to Iridescent Shards during the event, you’ll be able to collect enough for a new character or two. That said, the characters with collectable DBD Twisted Masquerade cosmetics are as follows:

  • The Artist
  • Deathslinger
  • The Huntress
  • The Spirit
  • The Trapper
  • The Trickster
  • Ace Visconti
  • Elodie Rakoto
  • Dwight Fairfield
  • Jane Romero
  • Michaela Reid
  • Yui Kumura

Limited-time Event Tome

In a new, event-themed Tome, there will be two levels of challenges and lore tied to the Twisted Masquerade. And, on top of the usual individual challenges, there will also be a range of global community challenges. You’ll be able to track the global progression of everyone around the world, as well as your own direct contributions, which are important to redeeming rewards – there’s no riding on everyone’s else’s coattails, here.

Once the event goes live, we’ll bring you a rundown of all the global challenges, and what you’ll need to do to complete them.

Haddie Kaur and The Dredge join the party

The Dredge is dressed for the celebration.

With the new Chapter 24 Survivor and Killer Haddie Kaur and The Dredge being added to the game just a week before, the new arrivals are the Twisted Masquerade’s guests of honor. Instead of the elegant masks other characters will have, each of these two will have their own full event-themed outfits to unlock. Each outfit will be fully unlockable only by completing both personal challenges, and community challenges, so you’re encouraged to participate in everything.

Weekend Blood Hunt event

Of course, the Blood Hunt will be back for the DBD Twisted Masquerade celebrations. Make the most of stackable double Bloodpoints, and utilise BP Offerings to really max out your trial earnings.

Daily DBD login bonuses

Finally, because we’re particularly greedy around anniversary time and even all that isn’t enough, there will be a bunch of login bonuses throughout the event. And these aren’t limited to Bloodpoints, either. Rift Fragments and Iridescent Shards will also be gifted out throughout the event, just for logging into the game – so be sure to check in daily.

The grand total of the rewards you’ll be able to claim if you log in every day during the event is 900,000 Bloodpoints, 4,500 Iridescent Shards, and 35 Rift Fragments to boost your event Tome progress.

When is The Twisted Masquerade event coming to Dead by Daylight?

The DBD Anniversary event, Twisted Masquerade, will be coming to Dead by Daylight starting June 16, 2022, the actual anniversary of the game. The update will roll out at 7am PDT/10am EDT/3pm BST, before the event goes live at 8:30am PDT/11:30am EDT/4:30pm BST.
