Weapons are a common sight in Dead Island 2. After all, how else are you supposed to fight off the zombies? You don’t want to go into a fight without a weapon in your hand. How to get rare weapons in Dead Island 2

Most of the weapons that you find throughout your Dead Island 2 playthrough will be common and uncommon. There are, however, rare weapons that you can find. You can tell when you have found a rare weapon thanks to the blue coloring of the label when you look at it. There are a few ways to get rare weapons. The first is luck.

Zombies have a chance to drop rare weapons later in the game but it is mainly more powerful named zombies that will drop them. Keep an open for them as you search the world. The more common way of getting rare weapons is by opening locked containers and accessing zombie-proof crates. Zombie-proof crates are typically hidden in areas locked behind fuse boxes.

Other locked containers require specific keys to open. Containers like the Safe of Broseidon require you to grab a key from a specific location or zombie in order to open them. Most of these containers will reward you with rare weapons so keep an eye out for them.
