If you want to find a legendary weapon straight away in Dead Island 2 then you’re out of luck. It does take a while to find your first one (we experienced this during our playthrough) as they are the very best weapons in the game. In fact, even finding a lowly firearm is a challenge, as you’ll get these later on in the game.

The very first legendary weapon you receive is earned for completing the story, so the legendary weapons are more for the post game content. You’ll be able to run through the game and use them all to your heart’s content once you’ve found them – so there’s plenty of replayabilty on offer. Fortunately there are plenty of side quests on offer for you to complete once the game is done. Here is a complete list of all the legendary weapons you can earn in the game so far, as well as the mission you need to complete in order to find them.

1. Big Shot: Pistol – reward for completing It’s Not Your Fault (side-mission)
2. Blood Rage: Knife –reward for completing Fool’s Gold (side-mission)
3. Emma’s Wrath: Hammer –reward for completing Hollywood Ending (completing the story)
4. The Brutalizer: Machete – reward for completing Body Art (side-mission)
5. The One: Sword – reward for completing Beacon of Hope (side-mission)

As well as Legendary weapons, there are also unique weapons that pose a challenge to earn.
