Dead Island 2 is finally here! We’ve waited more than a decade, and more than a whole console generation for the game, but there’s going to be plenty to get into right away – even though Dead Island 2 won’t be an open-world game, there’s still plenty of stuff to explore in its recreation of LA. You’ll also get to play with six different characters, and the game supports co-op play. Digging a bit deeper, we already know there are a ton of Dead Island 2 weapons, ranging from hammers and axes to Carbine rifles and pistols, and you can also expect zombie-tastic boss fights, awesome melee combat, and an ingenious gore system that lets you strategically dismember zombies.

First off, if you’re on Xbox and PlayStation you can preload the game now – so you may want to do that to avoid any waiting around when it does drop.
