Titans in Destiny 2 are designed to be one of the tankiest classes in the game. Offering a barricade for your allies to hide behind and one of the most defensive supers in the game. But without a proper build, you won’t be able to do much of anything in most eng-game content.

Having perks and exotics that synergize well together is key to clearing some of the hardest content and is necessary if you want to farm for Ascendant Shards. let’s go over the best Titan build to use in Destiny 2.

Best Titan Build in Destiny 2

For this build you will need the following Fragments and Aspects for Solar Titan:

  • Aspects
    • Sol Invictus
    • Roaring Flames
  • Fragments
    • Ember of Singeing
    • Ember of Benevolence
    • Ember of Searing
    • Ember of Tempering

The main goal of this build is to allow you to run around fights throwing your hammer melee at enemies to keep yourself alive. Each kill you get with your hammer should generate a sunspot on the ground that you can stand in to heal and recharge your other abilities faster.

Destiny 2 Titan Build Perks

By running Roaring Flames, each kill you get with your abilities will give you a stack that increases ability damage. Thus making your hammer hit even harder to more kills you get.

The sunspots you leave behind will also deal damage to nearby enemies which can help with keeping a room clear of ads.

While the weapons you choose to run with this build don’t matter too much, you will want to keep your weapon perks in mind as you can be throwing a lot of grenades and melee attacks around.

Which Abilities To Run

Although Solar Titan Abilities don’t have many options, there are a few picks to keep in mind when running this build.

For your class ability, you will want to run the Rally Barricade as the slightly shorter cooldown allows it to always be ready when you need it. You can place it down for quick cover for you and your teammates. The Rally Barricade also provided weapon-handling bonuses to help you and your team clear out a room quickly.

The Titan jump ability you will want to use comes down to preference, whichever you like better is what you should run. Many players do tend to gravitate toward the catapult jump as having vertical momentum is key in Destiny 2 for getting around over horizontal momentum.

Solar Titan only has one melee ability for you to pick from, but the Throwing Hammer is no joke. Even with no stacks of Roaring Flames, the Throwing Hammer can still kill most ads with one hit. Getting a kill with the hammer will leave behind a sunspot that can provide healing to you and your teammates as well as apply scorch to any nearby enemies.

For your grenade, you will normally want to run the Solar Grenade. This will allow you to quickly clear out an area of enemies by applying scorch to them and causing them to ignite if they stay in the area long enough. Though you won’t be relying on your grenade as much as the Best Warlock Build does.

What Armor Mods To Run

  • Stats

For Titan, the main stat you will want to look for on armor is Resilience. This will not only make you harder to kill but also decrease the cooldown of your class ability.

After Resilience, you might want to look at getting your Strength as high as possible. Decreasing the cooldown of your Throwing Hammer in case you are unable to pick it up before it expires is key to making this build work.

Normally, you might want Recovery stats as well since this is one of the best stats for Hunters to use. But the healing and Cure from your Sunspots will work much better than waiting for Recovery to kick in.

  • Helmet Mods

You get a bit of a choice here between three different mods to run on your helmet. Running Solar Siphon will help you generate Orbs of Power depending on which weapon you use. If you happen to use one of the best PvE weapons in the game, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting orbs.

For the other slots, you will want to pick between getting your super back quickly or having a higher chance to find heavy ammo. Heavy Ammo Finder gives a higher chance for heavy bricks to drop when you kill enemies, this chance is increased if you get kills with an exotic weapon.

You can also choose to run Hands-On for bonus super energy. This mod will give you more super energy for each melee kill you get, thus allowing you to quickly recharge your super since you can use the Throwing Hammer infinitely.

  • Arm Mods

Both Heavy Handed and Impact Induction are great mods to run on your arms. Heavy Handed allows your melee kills to generate orbs of power, which works well with this build since you already use Throwing Hammer plenty.

Impact Induction will reduce your grenade cooldown each time you do damage with your melee. While grenades are not the most important thing with this build, being able to get your grenade back as quickly as possible is always something nice to have.

You don’t need to worry about getting your melee back faster through armor charge or Melee Kickstart as sunspots and a max Strength stat will help your melee cooldown be as quick as possible.

  • Chest Mods

Chest mods tend to be the least important part of any build. Just putting on as many copies of Charged Up as possible should work as that will increase the max stacks of Charged With Light you can have.

You can also put on Reserves mods, these vary depending on the element of your heavy weapon. But match your heavy weapon’s element with the right reserves mods to increase the max amount of ammo you can carry for it.

  • Leg Mods

There are plenty of Orbs of Power mods to use on your legs but some of the best would be Stacks on Stacks which gives you an additional armor charge when you pick up an Orb of Power.

You will also want to use Recuperation and either Innervation or Insulation. Recuperation will provide you with a bit of health when you pick up an Orb of Power. While Innervation reduced your class ability cooldown with each orb pickup. Insulation does this same but it reduces your grenade cooldown instead.

  • Class Item Mods

The Class item is where we see a few more powerful Charged with Light mods. Running Font of Restoration is quite nice to help make up for the lack of Recovery stat you may have. This will boost your Recover stat while you have an armor charge.

This pairs nicely with Time Dilation since it will extend the time an armor charge will last before it decays away. Finally, you will want to run Bomber or Outreach to reduce your grenade or melee cooldown each time you use your class ability.

Which Exotics To Wear

For your exotic armor, you have two options to choose from. Either Loreley Splendor Helm or Synthoceps on your arms. If you are looking for more survivability, you will want to pick the Lorely Splendor Helm.

This helmet will cause you to create a sunspot when you cast your barricade or consume your barricade charge to create a sunspot when you reach low health. The sunspot this helmet makes also has improved restoration effects to help you heal up even faster.

If you want to do a bit more damage then you can choose the Synthoceps. These arms will increase your melee damage when you are surrounded by enemies up to three times. Combine this with the damage increase from Roaring Flames and your hammer will be hitting hard enough to two-shot most champions.

If you happen to be missing any of the fragments or aspects for this build, you can meditate at the tower to unlock them all. Just make sure you have a full wallet of glimmer to buy them all in one trip.
