Weapon crafting, introduced with The Witch Queen expansion for Destiny 2, is another fantastic addition to the game, allowing Guardians to truly tailor their loadouts to their exact liking. What it does mean, however, is that you’re going to be farming for yet more materials to do so.

You’ll need to pick up Neutral Element, Ruinous Element, and Adroit Element as well as what we’ll be talking about in this article – Ascendant Alloy. Below, we’ll run you through what Ascendant Alloy is and how to get Ascendant Alloy in the most efficient way so you can get to crafting your weapons as fast as possible.

What is Ascendant Alloy?

Ascendant Alloy, as previously stated, is a material specifically used for crafting weapons in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. It is the rarest material in this regard due to its Exotic classification making it quite elusive when you’re trying to net yourself enough to get another fantastic gun.

Ascendant Alloy is also mainly used to craft the more rare weapons, and even Exotics such as Osteo Striga, so it’s important you farm a few extras for when that time comes. Let’s get into how to get this Exotic material.

First off, there are multiple ways in which you can acquire Ascendant Alloy. You are able to secure one from the Cryptarch, known as Master Rahool, in the Tower but this is limited to only one per week. You’re also able to get another from the Gunsmith Banshee-44, also in the Tower, but only once you level his reputation to max. This, therefore, means that you would be extremely limited if you were to rely on these two methods for getting Ascendant Alloy.

Instead, you are also able to farm Ascendant Alloy from the Master difficulty of the new activity – The Wellspring. You will be rewarded with one Ascendant Alloy per run and it can be redone over and over with no limits. This makes it the best way to get Ascendant Alloy, and perfect if you’re ready to craft a bunch of weapons in one go.

However, this Master difficulty of The Wellspring is only unlocked after you reach reputation level 18 at Fynch. You are able to net some Ascendany Alloy from replayable campaign missions at level 13, but this isn’t as efficient. Either way, you will need to put some work in gaining rep at Fynch to even think about getting multiple Ascendant Alloy per week.
