The Diablo series welcomes players back to hell in Diablo IV, the first new title in the series since Diablo Immortal. With its gripping story and beautifully dark settings, it’s easy to see why fans are so hooked. Blizzard Entertainment has released three different editions of the game, with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions each coming with their own special perks.

Both editions only add to the hack-and-slash fun that fans love, while adding new events, classes, weapons, and new nightmarish dungeons to the mix.

We’re comparing them so you can decide which one you want to get.

Should I buy the Ultimate or Deluxe Edition of Diablo

The edition that you should purchase should be based on whether you want to skip tiers on the Seasonal Battle Pass. This is the biggest difference between the Ultimate and Deluxe Editions, with the slightly pricier Ultimate Edition letting you skip tiers so you don’t have to grind for as much. If you aren’t worried about that, go for the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Is Diablo 4 Deluxe Edition worth it?

The Diablo IV Deluxe Edition is priced at $89.99 / £89.99 and comes with all sorts of rewards and legendary loot in-game that put it above the Standard Edition of the game. The Deluxe Edition includes all the following:

  • The full game
  • The Light Bearer Mount
  • The Caparison of Faith Mount Armor
  • Cross-game items
  • Early access to the game on June 1, 2023
  • Unique mounts
  • Unique mount armor
  • Seasonal Battle Pass unlock

Compared to the Standard edition, you’re getting the bonus of unlocking the Seasonal Battle Pass, as well as the mounts and mount armor that include the Temptation Mount and Hellborn Carapace Mount Armor cosmetics set.

Is Diablo 4 Ultimate Edition worth it?

With the Ultimate Edition of Diablo IV, not only will you get all the items listed above in the Deluxe Edition, you’re also going to get the Wings of the Creator Emote, and 20 tier skips in the Season Battle Pass.

This one comes with a heftier price tag though, priced at $99.99 / £99.99.

Both editions are a good step above the standard one, which doesn’t include the Seasonal Battle Pass unlock. That battle pass will be 1,000 Platinum, or $9.88 / £8.39 for Premium Seasonal Battle Pass unlock, and 2,800 Platinum for the Accelerated Seasonal Battle Pass unlock, which totals $24.99 / £20.99 when you buy them after getting the Standard Edition.

If you want the Premium Battle Pass, go the Deluxe Edition, and the Ultimate Edition if you want the Accelerated Battle Pass, as the perks for them are the same. If you plan on playing the game beyond launch, these will definitely save you some cash.
