How to solve the Secret of the Spring Diablo 4 riddle

Diablo IV has plenty of side quests to pick up while you travel the open world of Sanctuary, and one of the first ones you will run into is the Secret of the Spring riddle quest. This quest, while not difficult to find, can be tricky for players to complete. If you need to solve the Secret of the Spring riddle in Diablo IV, we’re here to help.

Diablo 4 – How to solve the Secret of the Spring riddle

You’ll need to first pick up the crumpled note that will kick off the quest. This note can be found outside of Kyovashad in the Fractured Peaks zone, by heading out of the Eastern Gatehouse and heading due North. In the Frigid Expanse area, you’re looking for the Kylsik Plateau. The plateau will reveal a dungeon called the Forsaken Quarry dungeon.

Run to the dungeon and climb up the ladder to the left of the dungeon entrance up to the wooden platform. That’s where you’ll find the discarded note that kicks off the quest. You can see the area you’re heading to in the map above circled in blue.

The riddle will read ‘Beacon of warmth in winter’s embrace, patience rewarded by nature’s own grace.’ This can leave you stumped, but it’s actually quite simple.

The quest will give you a marker to follow Northeast until you find a hot spring. Once you’ve made it there, the riddle can be solved.

How to finish Secret of the Spring side quest in Diablo 4

The solution is pretty simple, at the hot spring you will want to use the Wait emote. This emote is not going to be default on the emote wheel, so you’ll have to set it under the Customize button when bringing up the wheel. You can bring up the emote wheel by pressing:

• the E key on PC
• Up on the d-pad on console

Then, simply select the Wait emote and the Secret of the Spring quest will be completed. Definitely one that can stump you if you don’t know how to finish it, but luckily once you solve the riddle it’s very easy to get the extra XP for reward.
