Everyone’s been wondering whether there is Diablo Immortal controller support, especially as Diablo Immortal was released early on mobile devices, bringing the popular fantasy RPG to smartphones and tablets for the first time. The fact that the game will be available on mobile and PC opens up a whole new world of possibilities for the series, which previously only supported keyboards and controllers on consoles or PC.

So, Does Diablo Immortal Support Controllers?

Players will also be pleased to hear that they no longer have to wait to find out if Diablo Immortal controller support is included – the answer is 100% YES!

We’re sure there are still a ton of questions you have about controller support in Diablo Immortal. Fortunately, we’re here to answer any and all of your questions.

It isn’t essential to use a controller to enjoy the game because of the great keyboard and mouse controls on PC. There are also the intuitive touchscreen controls for mobile so there are plenty of ways to experience Diablo Immortal’s controls.

Why Does Diablo Immortal Need Controller Support?

Discussions about controller support for Diablo Immortal have been frequent and constant throughout the betas, as the ability to use a controller while playing is clearly highly desired by the community.

It’s easy to understand why. This is especially true for the mobile version of Diablo Immortal, as controller support is becoming increasingly critical as more AAA-style experiences migrate to mobile devices, such as Apex Legends Mobile and Valorant Mobile.

It’s a fact that, when it comes to playing games, touchscreen controls have come a long way in recent years, but they still feel less than ideal.

Diablo Immortal is no different. Although the mouse and keyboard have long been the preferred method of Diablo fans, Diablo 3 has thrived on consoles thanks to an excellent conversion of the game’s basic controls to a gamepad controller.

While we’re sure some die-hard Diablo fans wish their mobiles could support a mouse and keyboard, this is unlikely to happen anytime soon. Controller support seems to be the only viable option for mobile at the moment!

Can you play Diablo Immortal with a controller?

The short version: YES. In Diablo Immortal, you can connect controllers to either your mobile or PC.

In fact, controller support has been added to both these platforms of Diablo Immortal after some previous Diablo games didn’t have it.

As a result, you’ll be able to use an external gamepad to play Diablo Immortal on your computer or mobile device. Plus, the controls can be easily remapped to your liking and playstyle if you’re playing on these platforms. This means Diablo Immortal’s controls can be fine-tuned according to your personal preferences to make the experience even more immersive.

However, Diablo Immortal’s official website makes a (very!) bold claim: that there will be no input lag for controllers playing on these devices. Find out if this claim has any truth to it down below!

But first…

What to do when Diablo Immortal Controller not Working on PC or Mobile?

Despite Blizzard’s bold claim we mentioned above about Diablo Immortal’s controller support having no lag, input lag has already plagued many Diablo Immortal players.

We’re part of that group, too! Connecting an Xbox controller to an iPhone 11 playing Diablo Immortal led to a lot of lag and a lot of disappointment.

This is especially true for those who have tried to use their Xbox controllers on PC. As a result, we’ve put together an easy-to-understand guide on how you can fix PC controller lag in Diablo Immortal.

Have you got controller input lag in Diablo Immortal? Can you fix the lag?

Diablo Immortal players using Xbox wireless controllers and a few others have reported significant input lag so far.

As of this guide’s being published, Diablo Immortal’s PC controller lag issue has not been directly addressed by the game’s developer, Blizzard.

Diablo Immortal’s wireless controller input lag has been a problem for many players, and while we don’t have a complete solution, we do have a few workarounds that have worked for some.

Sadly, we don’t have any tips for mobile users experiencing lag, but we’ll keep you updated when we find out more.

How to fix controller input lag in Diablo Immortal on PC

We found some excellent advice courtesy of Shttalkin, a Blizzard Entertainment official forum user, who followed these steps to fix input lag on their Diablo Immortal controller. Their issue was entirely resolved after trying this:

  1. Use Bluetooth to connect a controller.
  2. Start up Diablo Immortal and see what happens. If the controller doesn’t connect properly, move on to the next step.
  3. Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
  4. Go to the page for the controller.
  5. When prompted, select “Controller” as your input device. This is as an alternative to “Keyboard.”

After following these steps, if there are still significant input latencies with your controller, you can either wait for Blizzard to hopefully release an official patch to address the problem or try these other tips that several savvy Redditors have discovered as a potential workaround.

This workaround to getting the controller to work in Diablo Immortal involves disabling Vsync and enabling the unlimited Frame Rate option. Here are the steps involved in both of these solutions:

For the first time, a game in the Diablo series is now available on iOS and Android mobile devices.

  • For iOS devices, those running at least iOS 11 will be supported, including the iPhone 6s or newer, iPads, and iPod Touches.
  • For Android devices, users report that the list of compatible Android phones varies greatly, making them more challenging to work with. Always check the system requirements for the game before installing it to make sure you can run it.

Diablo Immortal will also be available on PC, in addition to the mobile release. In contrast to the mobile release, the PC version will still be in Open Beta when it launches.

Players who connect to the Battle.net client on a PC will be able to access their progress from the mobile version seamlessly. Plus, despite being a Beta and being less polished than the mobile version, playing on the PC will not negatively affect your progress in any way.

Conclusion

It’s time to wrap up our look at Diablo Immortal’s controller support at launch!

Remember, this guide will be updated if the game’s official support list includes new controllers.
