The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is well beloved already. With a video game as hyped up as this one, fans want to know everything they can about the game. Who is in it, what weapons are there, what new abilities does Link get. And, of course, does Gleeok the three-headed dragon return in the sequel?

Is Gleeok returning in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

Yes, the famous recurring boss Gleeok is returning in Tears of the Kingdom. In the third final trailer released, a glimpse of Gleeok can be seen in all his three headed glory roaring as Link charges towards him. He is absolutely massive, and his heads are on fire, making for a rather intimidating boss battle with the creature.

The monster Gleeok hasn’t been seen in a Zelda title since The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for Nintendo DS where he was downgraded to two heads. Before that, his only other appearances were in Oracle of Seasons and the original The Legend of Zelda released in 1986 on the NES.

Who else will return in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

Flame Gleeok certainly isn’t the only character from the Zelda franchise to make his reappearance in the new Zelda title. Here’s who else will be in Tears of the Kingdom:

  • Ganondorf, King of Evil
  • Chief Riju
  • Prince Sidon
  • Teba’s son Tulin
  • Hetsu and his korok seeds

Ganondorf’s return to the series is also highly anticipated as he hasn’t been seen in his human Ganondorf form since The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess released in 2006. Him and Gleeok are some of the Zelda series most iconic villains, and both will be returning in the newest entry in the franchise.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released May 12, 2023 can be purchased on your Nintendo Switch console for $69.99 / £59.99.
